Canto VI: The All in All
Olan L. Smith, 5-24-2019
Perhaps I was born on Earth; a billion times born here; died here; I
Came here, left here, studied here, loved here. We tasted chocolate
Bars, sang, ate, fought, won, lost, married, swam, and made love.
Over again I am; I was, I will be; I think, or was it; I thought
I was. A billion times a billion does not come close to the number
Of times I've been born, reborn, in this world or on
Other. Can you imagine eternity? I can. No tree somewhere
That marks the end of the road, and states, "Stop! The universe ends
In ten meters." No; it is a gravity well; folks, around and down
The drain we go forever. A universe of infinite possibilities,
Infinite means all things are possible. Everything you think
Of is possible, every fiction you've written is possible, and will be;
So, the next time you kill off a character, you've murdered someone
Somewhere in this universe. Can you rise from the dead? Yes.
The universe is infinite, and therefore a certainty. Do you reincarnate? Yes.
How many times have we died? Billions of times. Were we a fly?
Are you the fly you swat? Yes. Are you the enemy that you shoot?
Yes. We are everything you can see and not see; experience and
Not experience. Are we gods? The Bible says we are gods, with
A little g; buddha, with a little b! Open your eye, open your minds
To understand all possibilities is tangible. To hate someone is to
Hate yourself infinitely, and forever. You are and I am. They are:
Are we? There's no distinction between anyone and anything.
So why divide ourselves over ideas, over color, over species?
