Gianna woke up early with the energy of a lighting bolt. Nothing could possibly ruin her mood, they're announcing the 5 nominees for Willbrough's Superhero Of The Year tonight. She got out of bed ready to start her day in the best way she could think of, with waffles. But Keith already had a plate full of waffles for her and himself set at the table. He hadn't been this excited in his entire life.
He looked up at her with their usual smile and "good morning" with a mouthful of food as she sat at the table.
"Excited for later?" She asked through a yawn.
"No. What's later? There's nothing going on later, is there?" Keith said trying to sound as nonchalant as possible.
"They're announcing the the nominees later! how could you forget? It's like literally one of the most exciting things around here!"
"Nominees for what?" Continuing with his bluff.
"Nominees for Willbrough's Superhero Of The Year!" Gianna exclaimed rising from her seat in pure frustration with his incompetence.
"Oh ya, that thing." Keith said giving in. "Are you going to the announcement?"
"God no, I'm sure that Granite is going to be there, and I'd really rather not spend my night watching him show off by lifting various people!"
"What do you mean? Granite is great!" Keith said jumping in to stand up fir himself, " it could be way worse, you could spend your night watching that stuck up do water tricks."
"What stuck up?" Gianna said growing furious "you can't possibly be talking about Tsunami, maybe Spirit, but not Tsunami!"
"No, I'm pretty sure I mean Tsunami. I read an article this morning that had a picture of her walking away from a crime scene yesterday, and it was tagged 'Tsunami after the WPD gave Granite partial credit for helping.' And boy did she look mad. It wasn't even that much credit, they just acknowledged him for helping out!" Keith yelled out taking the opportunity to get out against Tsunami.
Gianna could feel her face growing hotter and hotter with every growing second of him yelling. And the moment he stopped talking, she grabbed remains of her waffles and took them with her to her room leaving Keith just staring in confusion at the seat where she had been sitting only a moment before. She walked into her room and turned on the news, only to see a report on the previous night and then rapidly turning the T.V back off. And just laying on her bed and staring at the ceiling.
A moment later Keith came knocking on her door. "Can I come in please?"
"I guess."
"Gianna, i'm sorry. I didn't know you were so sensitive about your favorite superhero. I shouldn't have been so insensitive of your feelings towards her."
"No, it's okay Keith, I guess I kinda over reacted, and to be fair I did the same thing to you."
"Yeah. Well, I guess I ought to get going now, the rent isn't going to pay itself." Keith mumbled as he walked out of the room before this could get any more awkward.
"Wait." Gianna says as he starts to walk away. "Just leave the dishes on the counter, I'll wash them on my way to the office."
"Okay, thanks. By the way, you might not see me until tomorrow, I'm going to the announcing of the nominees and then heading out to a friend's house." Keith says as he walks down the hall to his room.
And Gianna gets up to go tidy up the apartment a little, seeing as she doesn't have to work today and that the living room still smelled really bad from last night.
