這是我的真相。
7:30 am Saturday
Jungkook POV
I couldn't sleep. I wouldn't sleep.
Every word from our conversation last night, haunted me so bad that I just lay in sweat and chills.
Jeon Jungkook.
He said my name.
The bully, it was me.
He was Kim Taehyung.
I lay on one side, trying to recall what I did after hearing my name. I couldn't seem to remember anything that happened afterwards. It all seemed like a blur. I side eyed the small clock on my bedside table. It read 7:34. The sky was barely lit, and the room was cold. I propped myself against the wall to listen fro sounds. Sure enough, Taehyungs's tiny snores could be faintly heard.
My heart raced and I was dizzy. This was too much for me to process. I wasn't going to be able to see him in school. Ever. And I could tell no one. I couldn't. I didn't even know who to trust. If word got out that we were neighbours...
My phone vibrated suddenly with an incoming call. I jumped and clicked "Accept" without really seeing who it was. It was way too early in the morning for it to be anyone I knew.
"Hello?"
"Jungkook ah."
Now that was a voice I hadn't expected to hear. My heartbeat quickened.
"Hyung! Where are you?" I said quickly. "Are you ok? What the fuck happened?!"
"Calm down," Yoongi chuckled. "I'm fine, I'm with Namjoon."
Namjoon.
The little shit didn't tell me-
"He didn't tell me you were ok," I growled. "You didn't call."
"I'm sorry Jungkook," He said sincerely. "We didn't want you to worry."
"Worry? I've been worried sick!" I yelled, suddenly forgetting where I was, face boiling with rage. "You didn't have the decency to tell your own brother that you were ok?"
"Well technically I'm not completely ok," He said slowly. "I am still in hospital." My eyes widened with shock. Obviously the tension was thick, because there was a long pause at both ends. Yoongi exhaled. I could almost picture him laying on a bed, his phone on speaker, Namjoon sitting beside him on a small stool.
"Which hospital?" I asked.
"Soo Chun Hyang. Oh Jungkook, please don't com-"
I pressed end call. It was too early for a Saturday morning, so perhaps the bus would be less packed. I unhooked a thick hoodie from my closet and slipped on jeans, not giving a small shit about whether they were clean or not.
I had to see my brother.
"So you're gonna visit him, huh."
A hoarse voice echoed out from behind me. Shit. This was not the time. I thought about staying quiet, but obviously I couldn't. He had heard everything. Oh curse those thin walls.
"Of course I have to," I breathed. "I'm sorry if I woke you up."
"No, I was awake anyways," Taehyung coughed. "I hope he's ok." I fumbled with my coat zipper.
"Yeah. Thanks."
I wasn't going to stick around. I grabbed a pair of shoes, shoved them on, and left, neck prickled with sweat. The air was chilly, the sky was just beginning to brighten. There was a squeal of tires as the bus approached the station. Fumbling, I pulled my card out and swiped it against the reader. With a satisfying beep, the money was transferred and I fell into a seat. My eyes were getting heavy, and the atmosphere was just right.
