Seokjin had no idea where they were going. He wasn't very acquainted with all of Seoul because he worked, went home and then sometimes to the hospital but other then that, he never had reasons to venture out.
So Namjoon could be taking him somewhere shady and he wouldn't know.
But the Alpha stopped the car in front of a hospital. And not just any hospital, it was big and obviously one of the best hospitals in Seoul. Seokjin saw many patients walking around with nurses or doctors, and there were teams of people huddled up on chairs and desks. They were obviously medical students working in the hospital for now until they became full time doctors.
"Coming?" Seokjin snapped out of it and turned to look out Namjoon, who was holding a hand out. He was hesitant, he didn't want to hold hands with Namjoon but he guessed it was a good reason because the place was crowded and big and he could get lost. He ended up taking his hand, albeit very reluctantly.
Namjoon didn't seem to mind though, since he just turned around and started walking, pulling Seokjin after him.
"Why are we here?" Seokjin didn't know if he was allowed to ask, but he did and waited to see if Namjoon was going to answer it or not.
He didn't.
He just kept leading Seokjin up the stairs and onto the 'Neurology' department. That made him frown, he knew it had something to do with the brain, nervous system and those delicate problems. But what would he know? He didn't have the best education in the world.
They stopped in front of the door and the door tag read 'Mr. Kim'. Now Seokjin didn't know Namjoon's surname but he did know his own surname and it was 'Kim'. But it could just be a coincidence—
The man laying there on the bed was not a coincidence. His father, laying there in the hospital bed, looking so much healthier than the last time Seokjin had seen was not a hallucination.
He broke down in tears.
His hand left Namjoon's and he ran over to his father, stopping short at the side of his bed because he didn't know if he should hug him or not.
His father's eyes were closed and he was obviously asleep. But Seokjin had missed him so much. He was still attached to many machines albeit much less than the last hospital's. His father was paralyzed from the neck down but his jaw muscles were also affected and so chewing and eating wasn't an option, which meant that he had to be fed with fluids.
But he looked so much healthier, it was like he became a different person overnight. And he had Namjoon to thank for that. He wasn't thinking when he turned back around and ran into Namjoon's arms, hugging the man tightly and sobbing into his chest.
"T-thank—you, I can't—can't believe—" Namjoon - who was very shocked - hugged him back and slowly rubbed the Omega's back.
"The doctors said that he should be able to start eating on his own in around a month, maybe even less depending on his progress. And we can come back every other week to visit, is that okay with you?" Seokjin sniffed, suddenly ashamed that he'd cried like that in Namjoon's arms and slowly pulled away, nodding.
"More than okay. Thank you so much."
"Don't mention it. Come on, say goodbye and we'll go to bye you clothes." Seokjin nodded, he didn't have the heart to disagree right now since he was so grateful to the Alpha.
He went over to his father, holding his hand for a moment as he kissed the top of his forehead and then turned back to Namjoon, accepting the hand he held out this time with absolutely no hesitation.
The Alpha thought he saw a skip in the Omega's steps and it made a fond smile appear on his face.
++++
The mall was large. Larger than anywhere Seokjin has been and let's be honest, he's never been anywhere. Some people gave him weird looks because of what he was wearing but he preferred to ignore them, marveling at everything he saw through the shop windows and the overall look of this place.
"Since we'll only need pajamas and some comfortable clothes, I won't take you to any of the...fancier shops. Do you have a favorite brand?" Seokjin frowned and shook his head, he didn't have the luxury of buying what he wanted. His father tried to spoil him, but Seokjin had matured too much by that time and refused everything.
"Looks like we'll be visiting a lot of shops then." And oh god, they visited too many. The amount of clothes he tried on - and the number of times he blushed because of Namjoon seeing him in them - were to many too count and by the end, they needed two carts to put everything they bought in it.
Namjoon had also insisted that Seokjin stay in the white crop top and short he'd worn in the last store since they were going to a restaurant and he didn't mind. He wanted to look presentable anyway.
"Thank you...really, I mean it. No one has ever done anything for me." Namjoon smiled and patted Seokjin's head, turning to load all the bag into the car and the Omega hurried to help him.
A bright smile on his face.
