On an early Sunday morning, it was still raining heavily as Gallows Hill seemed to never see sun.
An alarm kept going off loudly, annoying the sleeper next to it, knowing he had to awaken anyways he hit the top of the alarm to get it to stop as he sat up.
He would rather be asleep still as even in his sleep he felt safer and more at peace than having to deal with his Uncle, Cousin, Mother and new Step father.

Joey didn't like either of them, especially his step father, his actual dad wasn't even dead yet and didn't even sign the divorce papers needed, his mother did all of that.

And Joey's dad was expected to live at least, his current condition was getting better, and he was thankful at his dad's age he was able to get better. Although his dad had been sick for the past several years due to his condition. Joey had hoped now that his father was getting better things would start to improve, although somehow a little part of him doubted that it actually will.

He finally got up off of his bed and tried not to hit his head off of the low ceiling, as ever since his uncle and cousin started living with him, he started sleeping in the attic to stay far away from them. Although he shortly realized it wasnt the safest or warmest place to sleep once he started to sleep in there, he thought it was better than having to constantly worry about locking his door every night, and even when he was at school as his cousin was 19 and didn't bother going to college, so he could easily rummage through Joey's personal items.

Although if he did, it wouldn't be much compared to what he's done to Joey, and his little brother before, although his little brother got it way worse than he did.

He ended up changing into clothes he had worn the other day as his uncle or cousin hadn't done the laundry yet and Joey already did everything else in the shop and their house, although he didn't really care for the most part.

He went down the small steps that lead to the attic and walked to the bathroom to brush his teeth and such. When he went to go grab his toothbrush he said his brother's old brush. Upon seeing his brother's old brush he grew a pained look on his face as he knew his brother wasn't ever gonna need it again.
He still remembers the day he was killed as if it had happened yesterday, even though it was mere months ago.

He tried his best to not pay attention to his dead brother's brush as he didn't want to think about how he died, which was hard to do as his brother's last moments were burned into his mind forever, and he knew that he wasn't ever going to be able to forget them. So Joey tried to simply look in the mirror, which didn't really help as him and his brother looked alike, as they both looked like their dad.
The only difference was he looked tired and more stressed than his dad or brother was.

Once he was done brushing his teeth, he ran the water from the faucet cold and cupped some of the water in his hands to splash onto his face, mainly to help him wake up.

He used a small nearby towel to dry his face before he hesitantly walked downstairs to where the butchery was.
He never liked working at the butchery and certainly never liked having to see his uncle, cousin, mother and step father.
All of which treated him poorly, and had used to treat Jace even worse before he died.

Among that he hated what they made him do, and didn't like that he had to lie half the time about what he was serving to people.

It was just yesterday he was starting to get sick of the fact he had to lie, hence why he just told that girl who stopped by the meat was bad.
As he most likely was going to get hurt badly if he told the full truth.

Although it wasn't that long ago his uncle started doing it, he may have lived there for a full seven years, but it was only a year ago that people started to go missing.
