Stokeley didn't know where to go. He felt like he lost touch of the world he lived in. Jahseh was all that anyone was talking about recently and it just made things worse for him.
"This should be worse for me y'know" a soft, female voice asked. The boy turned his head to see who the voice belonged to. His eyes widened, it was Jahseh's mother, leaning against a wall, smoking a cigarette. "I know, It's just... we were so close" he replied, head dropping to face the ground.
The woman walked closer to him, "I didn't see you at the funeral". His head looked back up from the ground, a frown appearing across his face, "I'm sorry, I should have came. But it's hard to be around so many people that are crying over your bestfriend".
"I understand, though Jahseh would have wanted you there. You were all he spoke about" she said, smiling a bit. Stokeley didn't know why but his eyes started tearing up as he heard that, "Really?"
"Mhm. Would you like to come to my home, you can have a look through some of his things if you want?" she asked. "I think I should go, it's getting late" Stokeley replied, looking at his phone.
"Please, I would really enjoy the company. And I will make you some tea and biscuits" the woman said desperately. Stokeley gave in and decided to go with her. She was clearly struggling more than him.

Stokeley sat on the soft couch, feeling the velvety material with his hands. He hadn't been in Jahseh's house since a week before his death. He missed the smell of the vanilla air freshener that just made the house feel more home-like, though a piece of it was gone.
Jahseh's mother had walked into the living room with two mugs of tea in her shaky hands, she spilled a bit doing so. The two mugs were placed on the dark wooden coffee table in from of the couch and one nearest stokely had a big "J" written on it. "That was Jah's, I hope you don't mind using it" she said softly. Of course he didn't mind using his dead friends mug, it's all good. "It's ok" he said, taking a small sip of his tea.
They chatted for an hour and Stokeley asked to have a look at Jahseh's room. He walked up the stairs and walked through the hall, taking a peek at the beautifully furnished bedrooms and toilet. Finally he had reached Jahseh's room and got a nervous feeling as he walked inside.
Everything was still the same as he had last seen it. Still shoes lying across the floor, video game controllers too. It was like he was still living inside this room.
He picked up some random stuff and everything he looked at had a story, they were all little, special parts of Jah's life. Stokeley couldn't help but smile.
But that smile turned into a shocked expression once he found a small piece of paper on the floor, that had a lot to say on it.
