Part 1: Get out my head

Val's P.O.V.

When I woke up to Dante beside me. I was so grateful he spoke very little; he told me that Enzo took Katrina to a hotel on the other side of town. Hence, I wasn't anywhere near her, and he also told me to get changed to get ready to leave Spain, and that's when everything hit me in a wave of emotions, the remorse. I killed Papà. I shot him because he would kill Cenia but was that the reason? I shot him because of Cenia... I shot him because of Cenia... I shot him because of Cenia... Right? I grab my stuff to leave to go home.

Home is with Dante. Home is with the Lombardi's - Angelo, Eleanor, Camilla, Alessandro- even Enzo, Lucia and Avena, and I can't wait to go home to them. We sit in the car, and Dante grabs my hand and holds it, but I don't react as I'm too in my head to even care. Why did Padre have to be like that? Why did he cheat on Madre or kill her and then leave Mateo to die? Why? The car stops at the airport, right opposite the silver-white plane, and I get out and board the plane, ignoring everyone. I'm not ready to talk yet. I take my seat at the window, and I stare out of it. Blocking everyone out.

Dante's P.O.V

"I thought Val was okay, well she was this morning now she looks upset again and quiet, what did I do wrong?" I say, looking at Cenia.

"You didn't do anything Dante, she appreciates all that you do, but she's upset because when she shot Padre, she immediately ran to him and hugged him. She was the closest to papà; they were inseparable, but ever since we found out about Madre, she's been battling herself internally, and today leaving Spain, she had to make a choice. You or Spain with Padre, and well we know who she chose" she smiles knowingly, and I smile.

"She will just need time", she added, and I nodded. I'll be there for her through thick and thin.

"Yea, I guess she does, but she was fine last night and this morning" I smile.

"Yea, I know. It must've just hit her, leaving Spain. She loves it here" Cenia smiles sadly. We sit, and we talk more.

"So, What was your childhood like?" I ask Cenia, and she smiles. "It was great. I remember when Madre and Padre took me, Val and Mateo to the park, and we were pushing each other on the swing, and Mateo fell off. We started laughing, and then he started laughing, and then Val slipped on the sand and dragged me down with her, and we all started laughing at the fact that we all fell" she laughed at her memory which made me smile, but her smile dropped.

"It was good, but that changed when Madre 'died' it was awful after that. Padre started making us train more and more each day, and we became stronger, but I was never the strongest Val was. She was better at everything than me, so Padre favoured her more, I was more for Madre" she smiled sadly, and I nodded.

"What was yours like?" She smiles, and I smile. "It was the best. I, Camilla and Alessandro were all in the backyard. We were all playing, and suddenly I was pushed into the pool. I come up to hear a laughing Alessandro and Camilla. Alessandro and Camilla held out their hands to help me out, but I did the classic and pulled them in, and they were furious, but we all ended up laughing. It was good times, but we had to grow up quickly as being childish when in a Mafia family can't help you," I say, and she nodded.

"I agree. We were only 14 when Madre 'died' and Mateo 'Left'. So we had to grow up really fast but trust me. Val and I can be very childish. She's very youthful around children; she loves them as you saw with the twins" she smiles widely, and how I'd love for her to have my kids. We arrived quickly back at the house, and Val just walked in and up to her room, I'm guessing. I'll see her later; I'll let her breathe for a bit, so I left for my office. I sit down, reviewing the past events. Val would be a great mother, I know I told her last night that I want her more, but I need to prove to her that I genuinely like her and I want her, but for now, I will leave her to rest and regain her strength, she must be so distraught she killed her dad.
