My day begins at 5:40-5:50 in the morning. Though my school doesn't start until 8 am sharp I wake up to get ready especially early so that I can attend an early morning scripture class put on by my church. We call this seminary and it becomes available to all those enrolled in Highschool. I have been waking up this early for about four years now!! Lack of sleep doesn't stop me, though it does tend to make it harder haha. It actually is worth it though, because I have learned so much about the scriptures that I wouldn't have had the time to study it out myself otherwise! Seminary classes are set depending on area and time. It used to be class, but the ciurriculum just changed this year! Now I have two options, either the 6 am class of the 6:20am class. I chose the latest one, why? MORE SLEEP. Hahaha! My freshman sister, Keirra, took the earlier class so she gets rides from her friends to and from the church building to home. After my class I go back home to pick her up and take her to school with me, it is a lot of driving, but I really value the self evaluation time. It is also a good time to sing as loud as I want in my car!!
In my class I have two teachers, Sister Mosher and Sister Hornfisher. I really love both of them! I have no idea how they have enough energy to teach in the morning. I barely have enough to stay awake ha! I have had them for three years now. My freshman year I had Brother Ball and Anderson, however that ship sank as soon as it set sail haha. LONG STORY. They were just... interesting. I love them as individuals, but as teachers.... eh. Anyway!! They are really great. I have about 20 kids in my class, all ranging between freshman and sophmores. There are four tables and I now chose to sit at the third table with my best friend Sarah. Well, she sits at the fourth table actually. The tables are so close together that we practically are righ next to eachother though. Around me I have Haley, Jason (those two are bro and sis) then Joel and Ricky.
I love my class as much as I love my teachers! Except at this early in the morning it is hard to find the right patience at times. For example Haley and Sarah are both really smart, like CRAZY smart. It is hard finding patience with them while they constantly degrade the other classsmates, calling them stupid in one way or another. HELLO. Who peed in your cheerios this morning?? I am a strict believer in the golden rule, treat others the way you would like to be treated. Sometimes. . . I get pretty ticked and depressed when people don't follow that. What is the point in being mean to another? We are all essentially going through the same hard challenges of life, I think we should all stick together to the end and do what Christ would do. Sadly, I can't change what I can't control. My best friend from Virginia, Madison, tells me that all the time, "Don't worry about what you cannot control!".
It's harder said than done!!! Worrying might as well be my most practiced hobby.
Returning from that tangent, I really like my class. We have fun, tell jokes, laugh and can still get serious when we really need to.
I go to Angelo Rodriguez High School and will be graduating 2015! (This year ahhhhh!!!) This is actually my third high school. 9th grade I went to Tuskarora in Virginia, then I moved October 2011 to California. For a few months I went to California High School, but January 2012 we moved up north and then I started at Rodriguez.
I've actually moved quite a few times in my life. I was born in Utah and then moved to Washington, Virginia, Nevada, Virginia again and then California. Not too crazy, but I still have some big experience with moving.
Coming to CA from Virginia was one of the most devastating (at the moment) of my life. Those four amazing years in VA were the founding of who I was. I never thought I would leave, my family planned to stay there until I graduated.
However, God had a different plan for my family.
I felt as if I was losing my soul... All I had really known was Virginia. The places before were fun, yet Virginia beat them all. I had such caring friends, a great ward, a spacious and stable home, a forest that I could pretty much call my own. . .
We left October 25th after my friend's Halloween party.
I remember clinging to my Best Friends Shelby, Amber and Tori. There were tears cascading down my face, a horrible ripping sensation in my chest and the realization that what I had was oh so good. Sadly, you never really know what you have until it's gone.
Looking back, I am grateful I left.
It took a while for me to be happy in California, but overtime I learned to love it.
At first I wouldn't accept the realization that I now had to start a new and my old friends would live on without me. I would dream of returning as a "California Girl" and wowing all of them with how much I've changed.
Then we would party and all would be well!
SIKE.
Time brings change and eventually everyone slowly changed.
I did too :)
When leaving VA I thought I was the strongest I could be. HA! Now I am even stronger than before.
I have met great people, grown spiritually and learned much!!
Excuse the tangent, but in summary I love my home California now :)
Haha where was I?....
SOOOOO.
Seminary and school!
I currently take four AP classes, choir and anatomy.
It is a TON OF WORK.
Then this fall I did Cross Country with my sister and gained a whole bunch of new friends :)
Now I am doing soccer! Conditioning is now and Tryouts start February. For other church related activities I have mutual each Wednesday and church on Sunday!
Mutual this next week is a New Years Resolution/Gratitude activity. :)
To explain Mutual they are essentially weekly youth activities, ages 12-18, that vary between YW and YM joint together for activities, just YW or YM in their designated age classes or, all YW combined and YM combined separately.
They are really fun!! I love hanging out with my friends during that time. It takes stress off the rest of my week by having that break.
On Sundays we have church for three hours!
Kind of crazy hearing about it.
Well first hour is sacrament meeting, second hour is Sunday school and third hour is YW and YM.
With this new year my ward changed to the 9 o'clock session instead of the
1 o'clock we had last year.It is hard waking up early, but now I have all of Sunday to relax!
That just kind of sums up the constant events of my life :)
Till next time!
Also sorry I lack the time for writing. Busy busy life hehe
