Prologue/intro
I come from a family of two parents, two sisters, two brothers, a dog, a cat, and a hamster. Sadly my hamster is actually pretty irrelevant, Hammy is just too mean and no one really likes her. She bites!!!! Haha anywho, I really have a nice life. Not wanting to brag, I just have a lot to be thankful for! Why shouldn't I be? I have a house, electricity, a loving family and friends, I'm at my last year of High School and I have my church as my foundation.
I know who I am, for the most part. I know I am a daughter of a King, my Heavenly Father, and He loves me. I love Him too! And the Savior, Jesus Christ. He died for all of us, because He loves us and knew that only through Him would we be able to return to our home in heaven one day.
We are sons and daughters of God, daughters and sons of a King.
Yet, not all of us know where we come from. Technically that is why I am writing this, to help everyone find out who they are.
In the LDS church we have a young women's program, from ages 12-18. During this time we are given a book called Personal Progress. This is filled with various projects and experiences that we are to accomplish if we are to obtain our Medallion, a special necklace in either silver gold with an image of a temple on it. There are eight values: faith (white), divine nature (blue), individual worth (red), knowledge (green), choice and accountability (orange), good works (yellow), integrity (purple) and virtue (gold). In each of these values we must pass off three required experiences, three chosen experiences and a ten hour project. Right now I am using this book as my Divine Nature Project!
I have three more experiences and four projects left before I am done.
Personal Progress is aimed towards making us young women be prepared for future motherhood and becoming like Christ. I can testify that it really has changed me for the better. I have also learned many skills and talents that will be of great use for the future!
It really is amazing what It has done for me. I encourage you to look it up on lds.org! There is also an excellent young men's program that you can look up.
I'm not perfect, not even close. That's why Christ is my greatest example and why I try to do all that I can to become like Him. That is the the ultimate goal of my church, to prepare us and aid us in the journey to become more like Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father.
If there are any questions just comment! This next chapter I will start getting more into my life, I am just trying to begin so my story has a good enough foundation.
Wish you all the best!
