"i heard east side had one of their jewelry stores robbed by a westerner... it doesn't get any dumber than that," yoongi sighs. "westerners are so fucking stupid time to time. why would you risk your entire life for something so useless? the robber can't stay there forever, and they won't be able to sell the jewelry either. no one knows where it's been besides the hands of an easterner." he scoffed.

hoseok looked up from his phone for the first time in a while. the sudden mention of the easterners caught him off guard as he scrolled through his phone. yoongi stares at the TV with a look of anger in his eyes... of course. he thinks for a bit, trying to understand both sides of the situation. "maybe they were just... curious."

"curious?" yoongi questions with an eyebrow raised. hoseok never flinched, he was used to having his thoughts dismissed. he only ever showed sympathy for the easterners to yoongi who never ever agreed. "hobi, we know all we need to know about the easterners. they're a danger to us. after hundreds of years of an epidemic, we finally found the cause of the death of our ancestors. this sudden uproar of curiosity of what goes on on the east is gonna cost us our lives if we don't get our shit together."

hoseok sighs in boredom as he hears the rant for the hundredth time. he's not wrong, he thinks. everyone of the western world would be wiped out off the face of the earth if even one had made an interaction with an easterner. the idea had seemed so taboo for centuries. no one dared to even attempt to do so. but after hours of thinking the whole situation over, he wondered why. stupid. right?

yoongi continues to rant as hoseok stares back at his phone, eventually finding a trending article written on the topic. the words written on the screen makes his heart beat race just a bit. "hyung," he says as he extends his arm to show yoongi the screen. "the robber is.. going to be executed. at the border tomorrow. is that what they're doing now?"

yoongi squints at the screen, mouth agape in interest. "execution? they haven't done something like that in a long while." yoongi whispers as he sits back into his chair. "wow.. they're taking this matter more seriously, as they should. no one in the right mind would even think to cross that border. whoever does deserves what's coming for them... for putting millions of us in danger because of 'curiosity'. fucking douches."

hoseok listened closely to yoongi's words, wincing at the harsh tone. he can't help but feel a bit of hurt in his chest as he hears his best friend approve an execution at someone who just probably wanted to see what the other side was about. soon enough, he reminds himself that this is how everyone in the west feels and that it's probably for the best. to keep their part of the world safe.
"hyung. what exactly is it about the easterners that is so dangerous to the westerners? does anyone really know?" he asks.

yoongi thought for a bit. no one in the west has really thought that hard about it, for they've never questioned the rules given to them by the western government. there was really no reason to. "i'm not sure, hobi. but i really can't bring myself to care. it's a proven fact that the easterners are a threat to us and that we're a just as much as a threat to them. something in the way we're built that makes us so dangerous for each other. we may not know what exactly, but what else is there to know? after hundreds of years, we concluded that there really is no cure."

hoseok sits tight, recalling what he was taught when he was just a baby. easterners are not safe for you. easterners hurt you. easterners kill you. it's not that they want to, it's just the affect we have on each other. never think about crossing the boarder. if you see something, say something. have pride in the west. it's all he's ever known.

lately however, his mind has been wandering about. especially as he scrolls through a certain profile belonging to instagram user jjkook0901
