Mary's POV

I showed up at the conference room the next morning at 10. Everyone was already there. "Guys, I'm sorry I got angry at you last night," I sighed. "It's just, when one of ours needs help, we have to be there to help them."

"She's right," Steve's voice came from behind me.

"Steve?" I asked. I turned around. I ran up to him and hugged him. "Why are you here?"

"This family needs me," Steve smiled. "And to be honest, I need my little sister."

"Well, your little sister actually needs you," I replied. "This is your team, it isn't mine."

"It's ours," Steve looked at me. "We'll run it together."

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yeah," Steve nodded. "And by the looks at the papers on your desk, we might have to go under."

"Wait, what?" Thor asked.

"We'll help the world, but I don't have the funds to pay all of you," I looked at them. "We will have to go to minimum wage jobs. Dr. Strange, you can go back to being a doctor." They all looked at me. "We have to if we wanna keep ourselves afloat in this world. They want money. That's all they want and I don't have it for all of us."

"What are you going to do?" Clint asked.

"I am a waitress," I sighed. "It's what I've always done when we lost against Thanos and it's what I've always done before Thanos."

"How did you manage to keep your job?" Wanda asked.

"Her parents own the restaurant," Steve replied. "Okay, you guys gotta start treating her with respect. The same respect you gave to Tony and I."

"Sorry, I'm late," Peter walked in with cupcakes. "I brought cupcakes."

"Let's not worry about that," I pointed.

"Are you sure?" Peter asked. "They're red velvet cupcakes."

"Yes, I'm sure," I nodded. "Look, I know everything about all of you. I know how you became an Avenger. We are The Avengers. We're all together." I sighed. "Natasha, you started off in SHIELD. You were undercover, studying Tony." I sighed. "Clint started off in SHIELD as well. Guys, I want you to trust me. I may be young, but I have knowledge of all of you." Her phone let out a ding and she looked at it. "Oh, goodie."

"What?" Steve asked.

"Pepper, do you still have my guitar?" I asked.

"Yeah," Pepper nodded. "It's been in the trunk of my car."

"Great," I smiled.

"You play guitar?" T'Challa asked.

"Yes, I do, and if you stubborn people would listen, maybe you would find out a couple things about me," I replied. "Steve, you wanna come? Mom's making me sing at tonight's open mic. One of the people dropped, and she has a slot opened." I looked at Steve. "We can sing the song that you sang with me."

"I'll drive you," Steve sighed. "You get your stuff together and then we'll talk." I looked at him. "Let's go, Mary." We walked out of the building. I grabbed my guitar from Pepper's trunk before we got into Steve's car. He started driving as I tuned the guitar. "You're really going to sing?"

"Yeah," I nodded. "I haven't touched my guitar in almost three and a half years."

"You ready for something like this?" Steve asked.

"We weren't ready for Banner and Hulk to be together in one," I replied. "Eleven years later, he managed to pull that off." Steve pulled up to the restaurant. Steve was just looking at me. "What?"
