Peter's POV
"So, who's going to steer the ship?" I asked.
"Steve has assured me that Sam would be the next Captain America," Mary looked at him. "What do you say, Sam?"
"Look, I maybe Falcon and I probably am the next Captain America, but I can't take leadership," Sam nodded. "Thank you; but I have to decline that offer."
"Pepper?" Mary asked.
"I have Morgan," Pepper nodded. "I did this for you guys but you gotta have a leader."
"Why don't you do it?" Thor looked at Mary. "You're Steve's little sister, and Tony's daughter." I looked at her. "You're basically Iron Woman."
"Guys, having me in charge is not a good idea," Mary replied.
"Mary, you got this," Natasha replied. "We need you." Everyone looked at her and it was complete silence. "You know you're the only one left."
Mary looked at all of us, completely silent. She contemplated for a bit. "Okay, fine," Mary put her hands up in surrender. "I'll do it. As long as you all listen to be because you all can be very stubborn."
"How do you know?" Quill asked.
"Because I've worked with every single one of you," Mary pointed. She put her hand down. "Okay, first order of business: an Avengers party."
"A welcome back party," I smiled.
"Pepper, you know what to do," Mary looked at her.
"Yes, I do," Pepper smiled. "I'll make the calls."
"Tonight," Mary stated.
"Tonight?!" Pepper asked, a bit shocked. "I don't know if I have the pull to get everyone tonight."
"You got this," Mary nodded. "I've seen you and we'll decorate."
"Can we do costumes?" I asked. "Please, please, pretty please?"
"Tonight, it's time to dust off our gears and put them on," Mary nodded. Pepper left with Morgan. "I want us to make a blast." She looked at everyone. "Tonight, the Avengers are back for good. Let's get started."
We started decorating the main room that we'd be using for the party. "Hey, Peter," Wanda walked up to me.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked.
"Is your girlfriend, okay?" Wanda asked. We looked at Mary, who was in her office, pacing around on the phone. "She seems a little tense."
"And that's not normal?" I asked.
"It's a little more than usual," Wanda stated.
"Come on, she just took the position her brother was in," I nodded. "It's emotional because he could've been here if he had let her talk him out of it. But he wanted a life."
"Just keep an eye on her, okay?" Wanda nodded.
"Sure," I replied. Wanda walked away and Thor walked up to me. "Can I help you?"
"You know of your girlfriend is done with you yet?" Thor asked.
"She's off limits, my friend," I smiled. "We're still together."
"How do you guys plan to have a baby?" Thor asked. "Half spider, half human?"
"They'll be fully human," I nodded. "With a superpower."
"Only if the power is passed down," Mary stated as she walked up to us with a file.
"What do you have there?" Thor asked, changing the subject.
