Part 8- Girlfriend?

It was later that night and Toby had fallen asleep. Spencer tried so hard to go to sleep, but she just couldn't. Everytime she shut her eyes, all she could see was Archer's dead body on the windscreen or Alex trying to hurt Spencer with a red axe. She could still feel the pain of the sedative going into her skin in the underground dungeon. She decided to get up and get a glass of water. As she grabbed a glass from the cupboard, her eyes turned to the medicine cabinet next to it. She knew she had some anxiety pills in there that would help her sleep. She didn't want to give into the temptation. So she tried to distract herself. She went over to the sofa and turned on the TV. She put on a random show on netflix and watched it. Toby woke up and saw Spencer wasn't next to him. He stretched and slowly got up. He whispers Spencer's name and she didn't answer. He heard the TV was on so went out into the main part of the barn. He saw Spencer cuddled up in a blanket on the sofa. She looked so weak and tired so he wondered why she was up and not asleep. He walked over to her slowly and sat next to her on the sofa. "Spence, you look really tired. Why aren't you asleep?" She looked at him and shrugged. She didn't want to tell him that she couldn't sleep. She hated it when she seemed weak. She always tried to be strong in front of everyone. "Spencer, what's wrong, why are you up this late?" She tried not to give in and tell him. She hated lying to him, so quietly let out the words, "I couldn't sleep" Toby grabbed her body and pulled her into a hug. She moved so she was comfortable in Toby's arms. "Why can't you sleep, Spence?" She breathed in deeply. Then said, "Everytime I close my eyes, all I can see is Archer, laying there dead on the windscreen, then I open my eyes and I feel like I am walking up in the underground dungeon and then I remember the pain of the needle that Alex put into me. I feel it running through my blood and it makes me shiver. I buried what happened to Archer away for so long, because all the girls seemed to be fine and I didn't want to seem weak. But now with everything that has happened I can't get it out of my head and it won't go away. A.D. is gone but I am still trapped in that world." A tear rolls down Spencer's eye and she wipes it away. Toby grabs the back of Spencer's head and pulls it in close to him. He stroked the back of her head will she cried in his chest. "Spencer, if you couldn't sleep, you could have woken me up and I would have helped you."

"I know, you were sleeping so peacefully and I didn't want to wake you. You don't have to worry about me and my silly problems. I am-" Toby interrupted and said,

"Don't you dare say you are sorry. They are not silly problems. They are not problems at all. I do have to worry about you because I love you Spencer and I don't ever think you are weak. You are the strongest and bravest person I know. You can tell me anything." Spencer smiled and placed her hand on his cheek then kissed him. "I love you too" she said as she pulled away from the kiss."Sooooo, can officially call you my girlfriend?"
"Of course you can!" She said and he smiled.
"So do you want to go back to sleep now." Toby asked. Spencer felt so much better after what Toby said. However he couldn't change what happened with Archer or A.D. She knew she still wouldn't be able to sleep. She wanted to make Toby happy though, so she said, "Sure!" He got up and went to go back to bed. Spencer shouted, "I am just going to get a glass of water!" He went to the bedroom and Spencer went to the kitchen. She turned around to check if Toby was gone. Then she slowly reached for the medicine cabinet. She took out the pills, and unsealed the cap. She picked one out and held it in her hand. Her hand shock as she looked down at it. She breathed in then put the pill in her mouth and swallowed it whole. She sighed then walked over to the bedroom. She saw Toby already in the covers. He lifted them up, gesturing for her to come in. She smiled and walked over. She got in and faced away from Toby so they were in a spooning position. Toby put his arm round Spencer and she grabbed his hand. She laid there thinking about the pill she had just taken. She knew it was wrong but she needed some sleep. She fell asleep in Toby's arms.
