"Dan?"

Dan's wearing a cream suit with red piping, hokding a bouquet of roses and he sure looks royal.
"Or should I say Prince Philip?" I smirk.

"Callie! You're...awake!" My brotherly friend smiles excitedly, dark hair flopping over his face, green eyes shining. "I was afraid I'd have to kiss you awake!" he laughs.
"Wouldn't want that to happen, I shudder jokingly. "So, this is probably Sleeping Beauty, then, I'm going to guess." I ask him.
Dan nods and looks around the medieval room. It's kind of creepy, in a mystical way.

"So," I turn my attention back to Dan. "You ended up here too?"
"Yeah," he says. "I kept on trying to call you, Sadie and Jim, but you wouldn't pick up, or read your messages, not that they went through, anyways. Long story short, with no friends to help me with university struggles, I wished I could run away from my problems, and ended up here at midnight last night."

"So," I say. "This is your first fairytale, I'm guessing?"
"Apparently so." Dan replies.
"And I'm Princess Aruora, or Briar Rose?"
"Yep."
"You got scratched badly by those thorns out there didn't you?" I ask, inspecting his scarred face and hands.
"Yes, so be grateful. I woke up outside the castle, knowing what I had to do, and as you can see, did it!"
I give Dan a grateful hug and he smiles.
"At least all four of us are together. Me, you, Sadie, Jim..."
"Speaking of Jim," Dan interrupts. "How do you find him? I've heard he was your Prince Charming?" he smirks, waggling his eyebrows.
"You're hilarious," I roll my eyes at Dan, he can be so annoying sometimes.

A sudden thought strikes me. "Dan," I say. "Dan, if we're all in the same fairytale, and I'm Sleeping Beauty, and you're Prince Philip, then..."
"...where's Jim and Sadie?" Dan finishes for me.

Our pondering is interrupted by a loud bang, as the huge bedroom doors are thrown wide open.
And two suspicious characters saunter in...

***

"Sadie? You're Maleficent now?" Dan laughs.
"I see you have a trusty sidekick next to you there," I giggle. "How's it like being an old crow, Jimmy Boy?"
Jim, or Maleficent's crow henchman, squawks loudly in frustration.
Who knew that this world could match Jim up with the perfect character to represent his morning moodiness?

As usual, Sadie, or Maleficent as it is, is complaining that she has to always be the bad guy, she never gets to be a princess...blah, blah, blah...you get it. I try to explain that actually, Maleficent has her own story that could also make her the, you know, 'princess' character. Yeah, she isn't seeming to buy that story.

"Hey," I struggle to find another reason why Sadie shouldn't be down about her outfit. "The outfit looks great. It...um...it really matches your...er...personality...?"

Sadie's face darkens and for a minute, she looks terrifying. Eek.

"Don't mess with this villain

"Don't mess with this villain." Sadie warns us. "I know magic. Dark magic." As if on cue, a roll of thunder rumbles through the castle and a shock of lightning lights up the dark room. Sadie squeaks in terror.

Right. Don't mess with the super villain. I'll remember that.

A/N : I know it's short, but another one's coming soon. Lots has been happening lately,  but it's coming, I promise. :*
