An insight into the professional experience of Marion based Galen Stone

Run by the City of Boston, Boston Youth Education Fund provides employment during summer to the youth workers. It is aimed at offering a unique job experience to the youth. It advances the lives of the Boston's youth through employment opportunity, career development training and youth engagement.

Being the Coordinator of Boston Youth Education Fund at The Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, Galen Stone from Marion was responsible for counseling the club members and coordinating their placements at colleges and private schools. Besides, he worked on developing, coordinating, supervising and supporting nearly 150-member volunteer program from many local undergraduate and graduate students from Northeastern, BU, Simmons, MIT and Harvard.

Besides, Marion based Galen Stone served as the Director of Education where he helped coordinating and supervising some 50 clubhouse educational programs in and outside of the clubs. He worked closely with the Greater Boston Area teachers and staff from area schools and museums.

Being the former Program Director at Phaneuf Youth Center, Galen L. Stone was responsible for all the aspects of program operations. He worked for a Brockton based 16-bed short-term intensive treatment program that was meant for 13-18 year old boys committed to DYS. Besides, he created a short-term intensive treatment model for the state. For his contribution towards Phaneuf Youth Center, Galen received an 11-year contract with 100% rating under intense standards, thus meeting all the proposed requirements. Indeed, the contract was the highest rating and longest-term contract in Massachusetts State History.

Galen was recommended by a personality from the Department of Youth Services therapeutic outreach program at Catholic Charitable Bureau of Cambridge. He was appreciated for being "quite positive and very good at negotiating and setting limits". He had also stated that Galen has always imparted a sense of hope to his youth and families and had very good results with most of his cases.

As the individual and family counselor to the clients at New Life Counseling Inc, Marion based Galen Stone aimed at providing the best counseling experience. He clarified the problems and examined what solutions had already been attempted. He gathered information about his client's past, his personal style as well as the relationship pattern.
