Then the rest of the weekend passed quickly, forgetting Mark's duty at the same time.
I entered the school, for the first time in a long time with a smile on my face, and immediately went to my locker to put my things there.
As soon as I had time to open it, someone shut it violently.
There was no doubt it was Mark, he's the only one doing it.
I looked at the person who had just closed the door of my locker and saw Mark, what a joy...
"-So? Where is my duty? I have to return it for the first hour of school, I hope for your sake that you have it and that it is done.
-Unfortunately for you I didn't do it, I had something else to do this weekend, I was apprehensive about his reaction, I admit I was scared at that moment.
-How come you don't have it?! He started screaming and all the students in the hallway stared at us.
-I didn't have it, that's all, it's your duty, not mine, I had no reason to do it, I was trying to talk as best I could but I was shaking and stuttering.
-Besides you're shaking, it's funny to see, believe me, he laughs, I hope you're happy with yourself, thanks to you I'm going to get a zero for not giving back my job."
He raised his hand like last time, but this time with confidence, he was going to hit me. I instinctively closed my eyes, ready to take the blow, but nothing happened. I opened my eyes one by one and saw that someone was holding his wrist.
Chris had held his arm to prevent me from getting hurt. A tear ran down my cheek, I had been so scared and I was so grateful that it arrived in time.
"-So the monster comes to the rescue of the damsel in distress, how ironic, like the beast helping Belle.
-Leave her alone, she hasn't done anything to you and doesn't have to be aware of anything, you only had to do your job if you had to give it back urgently and not give it to someone else."
