Clint and Nat and the rest of the Avengers

Chapter 5

NATASHA'S pov
I went to my room, yeah, it looked the same, it was a bad thing, too many memories, but besides that I was fine.
That's when someone knocked on my door "Natasha!!! It's Pepper!"
Pepper? That was odd
"Come in!!"
She entered the room smiling lightly "hey, I just wanted to make sure you and Clint managed to talk.."
"That was you? You took Laura away on purpose?? Ow, thanks, I guess"
"Well Tony told me you guys need to talk in private"
"Of course he did! Well it helped in a way, it wasn't awkward anymore to be around him. I'm just sad that Laura doesn't like me, like at all."
"Well it's just... she has a motive to be like that?"
Should I really open up to Pepper? I mean I've only seen her a couple of times
"Yes Pepper...she does! But you know Clint is my friend, she could at least try... I should've tried harder for her to like me, but I'm tired! I arrived today, this mission was hard on me, everything hurts, literally everything, my ribs, I can't even change without crying in pain
"That sucks Nat! I'm sorry, but whatever happens I'm here to help"
"Thanks Pepper, really didn't see that coming. So... hm... would you like to help me take those off, normally I would take the pain and do it myself but since you are here..."
"Well.. maybe we can hang out more from now on and you will see how nice I am! Now let me help you with that!"
"Maybe we can"
I stood up and she helped me take my shirt off, that's when she saw the scars, I had probably 10 of them on my chest and on my belly, two of them were recent and hadn't healed entirely yet.
"Natasha! This is horrible! Why do you have to go through that?"
"Well Pepper, some of them were back when I didn't have a choice, the others... well that's all I know, it's my job now, I don't have other life"
She looked at me in a way that I could see she was saying sorry even if it wasn't her fault
"I judged you, back when you were Natalie Rushman, I didn't know you, and then when Tony told me you worked for SHIELD... everything just made sense, I was suddenly thankful for you, your job was to keep Tony safe"
"It's okay Pepper, I get the judgment thing a lot! It's fine, I'm used to it, no one knows who I really am... or was. I can't be a spy anymore, not when my face was on TV fighting against aliens"
Then there was a silence, not an awkward one tho, a peaceful one.
"So.. what do you think about the lake house? It will be fun, there will be other people besides them... you can get to relax and enjoy the sun..."
"This seems really nice, I would've accepted when you guys asked me, but me going makes Laura miserable, she didn't even say hi to me today... I don't want her to be mad and then get any problems to Clint"
"I know, you are a very good friend Natasha. Well why don't you think this tonight and then in the morning you can give me an answer, we can have breakfast together, come to mine's and Tony's floor when you wake up''
I smiled at her "Fine"
"Night Romanoff"
"Night"
Well at least I got a new friend from this whole thing
8am Stark's floor
I decided to go to the lake house, I am entitled to have some fun! But only if I go on Tony's and Pepper's car.
"Morning red! What about my offer?"
"Tony! Well, all I need is a free seat on your car"
"Really? That was easy!" I smiled at him, Tony has really changed "Have breakfast with us, come here Widow" "yeah Nat, we did the table just for you" Pepper and Tony were the least probable people to be with me around hard times... and here they are
"So what time are you leaving again?"
"Around 11, I'll just call Happy to talk about hm...work stuff, but you girls can go and pack"
I ate my breakfast and Pepper excused herself to go to another room to answer an important call, I went to the elevator to go to my floor, that's when I saw Thor and Jane, totally forgot they were here. "Hey guys, morning" "morning Lady Natasha" "hey Nat!"
"Are you going to this trip with us?"
"Yes Thor! I am"
"Clint just called, said his coming over to get a ride with someone, also said Laura isn't coming due to work stuff."
"Really?" That's weird, why wouldn't Laura go with the possibility of me going? Let Clint and me alone... that was weird
They went to the kitchen to have breakfast I guess and I went to my room, that's when my phone rang, it was Clint.
"Hi"
"Nat? Hi"
"Why are you calling? Haven't seen your name on my screen for a while.." I knew why he was calling
"So, Laura has to stay here for work, she won't be able to go to Tony's lake house, and I kind of told her that you decided not to go"
"What? So she just "let" you go because she thinks I won't be there?"   What a bitch!
"Yeah, well are you mad?"
"Kind of, but I'm happy we can hang out"
"So you decided to go? That was why I was calling you in the first place..."
"I'm going, chill. Actually I'm going with Tony and Pepper, Bruce is going with Thor and Jane on Jane's car. So I guess you can choose which car..."
"Ugh... that is hard"
"Listen, I have to finish packing and get dressed, are you coming?"
"Yeah, I'm gonna be there in 10 minutes"
"Kay! Bye.."
I should be pissed at him for lying to Laura, but I was also considering the fact that he did it so he could be with me, and that was kind of cute.
I finished all I had to do and opened my door just to find Clint there "Ow Hi there!" He smiled and hugged me, he did it like he has been thinking about actually doing it the whole time. I hugged him back, that's when Pepper came "Sorry guys... I was just gonna call Nat and ask if she wanted to go on the garage level to put her things in the car... Clint! You are coming! Yaaay! Where's Laura?"   "She won't be able to go, work stuff" Pepper smiled at us, and then looked at me "well, I'm gonna be there, Tony said he's leaving in 20 minutes"   "Okay Thanks Pepps, we'll be there!" She left and I looked back at Clint. "We can catch up later, we'll have time, don't worry"  "yeah, probably when Tony is somewhere else" "true" "lets go?" "Lets go"
