"Who was that?" questioned Warren as I plopped back down on the sofa.
"I have no idea. Some guy named Greg looking for his dog."
Warren scoffed. Although he was an amazing guy, his one major downfall was his hatred for animals. Apparently he had a bad accident with them when he was little, but he has never shared it with me. I, on the other hand, love animals! Our conflicting feelings about the furry creatures may be one of the only downfalls to our marriage. I knew I would never get a dog, because after all, he was going to be the head of the household, and even though I hated that I couldn't get one; the idea was finally starting to settle in.
"Hey. When is your dad gonna be home?" asked Warren
"Three hours probably. He had many patients today." I answered
"Then I guess we have time for a movie!" Warren quickly glided over to the movie room. Which was pretty much just an old broom closet filled to the brim with movies of all kinds! This closet was Warren's favorite part of the house. I have never seen someone get so excited over movies. Every time he opens that closet or even passes it, his eyes twinkle. It was adorable to me how happy he got whenever he watched movies, so I always agree whenever he offers.
"Sure! Your time to pick though." Warren was terrible at picking movies. He was always afraid that I wouldn't like the movie he picked, but in all honesty, I never really watch the movie. I usually just concentrate on him.
About 10 minutes later, he finally emerged from the dark pit that is the movie closet. He was holding the most chick-flick poem I could think of....The
Notebook.
"Warren" I said with concern, "you hate chick flicks. Why did you pick this? I mean, I know you prefer American movies, but really?"
He paid no attention to me and plopped the disk in the DVD player. He then grabbed the remote and plopped down right beside me.
"Oh." he said with a sexy rumble at the end, "I don't really want to watch the movie...i just wanted to put something boring on so you would fall asleep in my arms."
I felt my cheeks blush. Man, he just found out we were gonna get married, but he sure doesn't act like it. I gave a slight chuckle, and laid my head on his chest. Even though we weren't doing anything, I knew my dad would freak out if he saw us, but at that moment, it didn't really matter. I heard Warren give off a quiet sigh and his breathing became a pattern of up, down, up, down, with two seconds in between. I felt his arm snake around my waist and I soon fell asleep to the sound of Ryan Goslings voice and the sound of my best friends perfect breathing.
