Chapter 2

'Hey Mom' You signed to your mother, Pepper, as she saw you walk into the kitchen. You had woken up late so it was about 2, but you also slept late so...

'Hello. Good morning, (Y/N)' She signed. Your mother could speak. And you could hear. But sometimes she liked making you feel special if she signed with you. You didn't mind if she didn't but you also didn't mind if she did. You loved her.

You grabbed some gadgets from the table and stuck something on your jaw and attached bracelets on both your wrists. They blend in with your skin so it wasn't noticeable. Your dad then walked into the kitchen and Pepper gave him a cup of coffee.

"Morning, Buttercup" He said.

'Morning Daddy' You signed. The device in your jaw then spoke. <Morning Daddy>

Your dad didn't know ASL, so he made something for you. He made the gadget that can read what you sign and say it out loud. He adjusted the voice the way you'd like so it'd sound like a girl voice. Not annoying but not boring. A normal voice. Not robotic like the apps on phones.

And the piece of the gadget attached to your jaw reads your emotions from the mind so the voice has the emotion you feel.

It wouldn't hurt him to learn ASL. It'd definitely make you feel better at least. But you were fine with having the gadget with you. It wasn't a bother to you.

'What do you have planned today?' You signed. But the device had repeated what you said. <What do you have planned today?>

"Well, (Y/N). I have to go to several meetings today and I have to work on my suit later after the meetings. So I'll be busy today" Tony said and you sighed.

<So I'm guessing Mom will be busy as well. Especially cause she has to attend the meetings and other stuff> You said and Pepper nodded.

"But hey, at least you can go with the interns" Tony said which made you a bit happier.

<Cool. Well I'll see you tomorrow. I have to go to class> Sure, you're home schooled but you loved it. Maybe it got lonely sometimes but you still loved it. Especially because of the one who's teaching you, he's chill. He was fun.

You went up to your room that was in the Avengers tower. Your dad had you have two rooms, here and at your home. He knows you like staying at the tower sometimes.

But you went up to your room and took off your gadgets and changed clothes. You changed to some ripped jeans, put a nice math pun shirt, and then you put a leather jacket over.

You put your shoes on and was heading downstairs to another floor. You walked up to a door and opened it to see a man there.

"Hello, (Y/N)" He said.

'Hi, Mr Kieth. how are you?' You signed. We had to get a teacher who knew ASL. Especially because your father knew how you didn't like talking with the gadget on only with him. Your father was still creating a name for the gadget.

"I'm good. How are you?" 'Good' You replied.

"Alright we have an hour today because you slept in and I have to get going somewhere" He said and you nodded.

"Alright. Let's get to work. Today we're doing Chemistry" He said and you smiled. One of your favorites.

'Bye Mr Keith. See you tomorrow' You signed and he waved bye.

You walked out and walked downstairs with the interns. You loved working with one of them. Ms Edward.

You ran downstairs and saw people walking around and few were wearing lab coats. You ran up to one and smiled. 'Hello, Ms Edward' You signed and she smiled.

"Hello (Y/N)" she replied. She didn't know much sign but that wasn't a problem. She knew a bit and you mostly just helped her out with stuff not much talking.

You two were walking when you saw a boy stumbling in with his ID card. You never seen him before. Was he new? Then again, you're always the one to be extremely early or late to Ms Edwards work space.

You walked to a near by closet with Ms Edward and helped her take out a few boxes.

Peter walked to the tower doors and was looking for his ID card. He stepped on his shoe laces and almost fell as he grabbed his ID card. He didn't end up falling but he stumbled in the door.

"Hi" Peter said walking up to the women at the front desk. "I'm here for the internship" He said showing the ID and the women let him go.

He saw a man that he works with in his working place and ran up to him. "Mr Hank!"

"Ah, Mr Parker" He said and handed him a few blueprints. "Glad to see you here. How have you been?" He asked and Peter shrugged. "Alright well, you left your box in Dr Lu's room"

"Oh, thanks" Peter replied as Hank gave him the box.

The two walked and Peter saw a girl that he thought looked stunning. He's never seen her and didn't know there were other student interns.

"Mr Hank, who's that?" Peter asked admiring her as she walked to a room then brought stuff out.

"Oh that's-" Peter tripped on his shoe laces and everything from the box fell and the blueprints he had fell.

He cursed to himself and started picking everything up. He looked up as he saw a hand pick some of his stuff up. When he looked up, he saw the girl that he was looking at and he smiled at her.

Once they picked up the stuff, he couldn't stop smiling at you causing you to blush.

"Hi" He said. You hesitated but ended up waving hi. "Thanks for helping me" He said.

You didn't know if he knew ASL, so you just put a strand of hair behind your ear not responding. You also didn't want him knowing you were mute since he must not know you are, and you'd like to keep it that way.

"So... um... are you an intern here?" He asked and you just shook your head no.

"Oh. So what are you doing here?" He asked and you chuckled quietly but didn't know how to respond.

"Well I intern here. If you don't believe me here's my ID card. You can ask Mr Stark or Mr Hank" He said but you just smiled and nodded.

"Are you shy?" He asked and you just shrugged. If people knew ASL, you wouldn't stop communicating with people.

"What's your name?" He asked and you still didn't respond making him feel awkward.

"(Y/N)!" Someone yelled. You turned around and saw Ms Edward she was asking you if you were coming.

'I'll be right there in a bit' You signed and she nodded then walked off. Peter had wondered what you had done to make her realize what you said.

'I have to go' You signed to him but he didn't seem to see. He just stared at you. Then you made a gesture making him realize that you had to leave.

"Oh yea. Um... Im Peter by the way. Peter Parker." He said which made you smile.

You waved bye and he replied, "Bye (Y/N)"

You walked to the box you left on the ground when you went to go help Peter and walked to Ms Edwards office once you picked up the box.

Peter watched you leave and then the realization hit him so hard. People ended up staring with what he yelled.

"Holy shit! She's (Y/N) fucking Stark!" Peter yelled wide eyed.
