Chapter 7: What's the shame in it?

"Wake up, Laura. I've got good news for you." Hermione shook Laura who was sleeping in her bed.

"Whaattt?" Laura asked.

"I got the schedules for our classes." Hermione said cheerfully.

"You go. I'll take sick leave today." Laura replied in a sleepy voice.

"Laura" Hermione protested.

"Okay. At least, let me skip the first two classes. I'll come after lunch." Laura pulled her bedsheet to cover her face.

"That is what you should not do. We have our first two classes with Slytherin. So, get ready soon." Hermione pulled Laura's bedsheet. 

"Why's that?" Laura confused.

"Because you can see your Draco." Hermione winked at Laura. 

"What?" Laura face became angry.

"Um- I- I said that because you love green. You can see green uniforms." Hermione grinned and left the dormitory.

Laura got ready and met Hermione who was talking with Ron and Harry.

"You got ready so fast Laura?" Harry was surprised.

"We're getting late. We need to hurry." Laura told Hermione ignoring Harry.

They reached the transfiguration class. Laura saw Draco sitting with his friends in a table.

Laura pulled Hermione to sit with her. She sat on the table from where she can see Draco clearly.

Ron and Harry took the table beside them. Ron teased Laura for choosing a table nearby Draco.
Laura was about to hit him with her book when the cat, which was watching everything turned into Professor McGonagall.

"Good morning, students. Welcome to transfiguration class. It is the most complex and dangerous magic. I don't want anyone to practice this out of the class." Professor McGonagall warned them.

"And I hate violent behavior in my class." she added sternly seeing Laura and Ron.

She turned her desk into a pig and turned back it to the desk. Everyone in the class was amazed.

Harry was in shock. The cat he used to see in privet drive looked similar to Professor McGonagall when she was in a cat form. She asked everyone to turn a match box into a needle.

Hermione turned the match box into a sharp pointed silver needle and turned it back as the match box. Laura's needle exploded like a cracker. Some students tried and tried. Ron turned the first half of the match box into needle and second half was still a match box. Everyone laughed at Ron.

"At least he turned one half, some of you didn't even tried to turn it." Professor McGonagall told sternly and smiled encouragingly at Ron.

Laura tried to turn Hermione's match box which was exploded after turning into a needle.

"Try slowly. Keep your mind relax, Laura." Hermione advised her.

"I don't want your advice." Laura picked up her things to leave the class.

"Everyone can leave now. I want everyone to submit their assignments tomorrow. Your task is first index of your transfiguration book." McGonagall informed the students.

Laura walked faster to avoid Hermione since she was chasing her.

"What is the shame in it? What is the shame in accepting advice from your friend?" Hermione asked Laura who was ignoring her while walking fast.

"Tell me now. You egoistic fellow." Hermione gripped Laura's hand to make her stop.

"I am not your friend." Laura pushed Hermione away to release herself from Hermione's grip.
