Erin, Pony, Johnny, and Two-Bit were walking the girls home since they had no ride. Everyone was having there own conversations. Ponyboy and Cherry were talking about sunsets and Two-Bit and Marcia were talking about God knows what. Erin just walked along side rubbing her arms. She was freezing to death.

"I told you you could have my jacket," She heard someone say from beside her. She turned her head and seen Johnny. She just shook her head.

"I'm fine," She said the same as she did before. She didn't want Johnny to freeze to death.

"No, you're not." He then took off his jacket and handed it to her. She shook her head again.

"I don't want it, Johnny. You'll be cold."

He smiled a little at her comment. "I'd rather be cold than you. You've been rubbing your arms all night. Please, just take it."

She looked him in the eyes. They were pleading for her to take it. They were deep, big, and brown. She could almost get lost in them. "Fine," She finally said. Before she could take it he placed it on her shoulders and helped her put it on.

"Look at those two," Two-Bit pointed at them. "Johnny's being a gentleman. Ain't that cute? I've never seen him be so sweet to a girl." He practically said it loud enough for them to hear. Johnny's faces flushed a light pink, but it was hard to see in the dark with his skin being so tan. And Erin only giggled.

"Oh shut up, Two!" Erin called. It made Johnny's face more red. He didn't like being embarrassed near a good looking girl, but it made it worse when she defended him. Especially to a comment like that. Two-Bit then began to laugh. Erin just rolled her eyes and turned back to Johnny. "Just ignore him."

Suddenly a car drove by. "Oh no," Cherry said. It was a blue mustang. It was their boyfriends. They didn't notice them though. They just drove on by. But after a few more minutes they came back. "They've spotted us," Cherry said bleakly.

"Cherry! What are you doing?" Her boyfriend, Bob, got out of the car. Erin glanced over at Johnny. He was looking down and was pale as a ghost. He wasn't the only one scared. Erin was too. She just scooted closer to Johnny as everyone started yelling.

She was tempted to run, but she knew that if she was alone she would be an easy target. Probably not with the girls with them but you never know.

Finally they stopped and the Socs drove off. They all started walking again. "Those are the best looking girls I've ever seen," Two-But finally spoke to relieve some of the tension. "What do you boys think?"

"Yeah," Pony agreed.

"Eh, I've seen better," Johnny said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Ooo does our little Johnnycake have a crush?" Two-Bit smiled and nudged him with his elbow.

"Y-Yeah...I guess. She goes to our school," Johnny said.

Erin frowned at his statement. She always liked Johnny and now that she's here she only likes him even more. She can't deny that he was cuter in person. That's one reason why she threw popcorn at him at the movies. All though it took a lot of nerve for her to. She had butterflies in her stomach the entire time he was beside her, and she didn't want to embarrass herself. But she wanted to do something beside sit there. She thought that laughing fit she had would've been embarrassing, but then Johnny started laughing too.

She feels weird liking a guy she just met. But she feels like she's known these boys longer than a day. And she has. Every time she read The Outsiders she got to know the boys more and more.

"Well, I'm going to get going," Two-Bit said once they arrived at Johnny's. Pony continued to talk to him as Erin stared at the house. She knew it was Johnny's. She remembered the book and movie. His parents are abusive. She knew that. But she still asked about it.
