I looked at Jimin slightly surprised by his request but then nodded. «How much is it?» I asked quietly, pulling my wallet out of my pocket.
He instead put his hands on mine and stopped me. «It's one hundred and twenty euros Kookie.. And I don't think you have them with you» he whispered without looking me in the eye. «I know it's a lot money but it's for something significant and essential..»
If it were about anyone else I would have been worried about what they were going to do with that money, but with Jimin it's different; I've known him for too long and I know with certainty that he isn't going to do anything weird with it, I bet he simply wants to have a higher budget for his parent's anniversary gift. «Maybe this time they'll deign to consider you» I put the wallet back in my pocket whereas a confused expression appeared on his face. «I was talking about your parents, it's for their anniversary, isn't it?»
«Huh? Oh them, yes, of course, it's not long to it and I need to raise a little money to do something they won't be able to despise» he smiled before straightening up on the seat. «Can I get them up as soon as we get off the bus?»
«Yes, of course, my parents should be at some sort of spiritual retreat, you know.. Preparing for Easter» I rolled my eyes making him laugh.
We remained silent for the rest of the ride and listened to music so we could overlook the annoying chatter of some other boys who, fortunately, went down a few stops later.
We got off and headed towards my hause, situated on the opposite side of our small town. Jimin was luckier, he lived just minutes away from the bus stop but was always arrived just on time, unlike me, that despite living twenty minutes away, was always perfectly punctual.
«May I?» he asked, taking off his shoes before completely getting past the front door.
«Come on, let's go up» I took him to my room and he immediately sat down on the bed while I reached for my piggy bank.
«I'm sorry you have you break it..» he said being upstet for the pottery pig. «I gave it to you when we were little, if I'm not mistaken»
«Yes, I think we were eight? However, don't worry» I smiled getting closer to him and sitting on the ground. With a snap I broke the piggy bank, causing all the coins and bills to scatter on the carpet. «Mh.. Fifty, sixty.. ..One hundred and twenty! There you are!» I handed him the money and he immediately embraced me gratefully.
«You are my savior Kookie! I swear that as soon as my parents give me my allowance I'll give them all back! Now I've gotta go or the store is gonna close, I'll see you tomorrow !!» and in a hurry he ran out of my room, retracing the stairs to get out. I watched him from the window run happily until he disappeared from my sight.
Good Jungkook, today you did two good deeds, your parents will reward you.

«Did you manage to get what you were looking for?» I asked, keeping the bus doors open to let him in, given his tardiness.
«Uhm, actually I didn't..» he said sitting down and nervously beating his foot on the ground. «Won't you lend me more money?»
«Jiminie..»
«Come on please, I'll give them all back, I promise» he grabbed my arm and clinged to the sweatshirt. «I still need..» he began to count with his fingers before looking back at me. «Nine hundred and forty euros.. Approximately..»
«What?! I don't have all that money!» I exclaimed aloud and he immediately looked up, puffing.
«What does it costs you! With all the times I've lent you money!» he gave me a light push, crossing his arms and turned to the window.
«It only happened twice and it was to buy tea» I tried laugh it off but he was starting to get angry. «Seriously, what do you need to buy that is so expensive? I'm sure they will rather appreciate something made with the heart and not bought with mone-»
«Don't talk if you don't know shit!» he shouted, drawing the other boys' attention and shocking me; I would have never expected such an excessive reaction. «I only asked you for a favor and you're not even willing to help me!» he shouted again, furrowing his brow in a much furious expression. «Go fuck yourself!» and yet followed by another scream, he pushed me hard enough to make me lose my balance and fall to the ground.
«Jimin..» I looked up at him, meeting his eyes full of anger.
«Don't you dare talk to me again» he blurted out before making his way through the other boys and having the driver stop to get off the bus.
I laid on the ground several minutes before my mind processed it all out.
It can't have possibly happened.
Jimin is my best friend, the only friend I have to be precise, he can't really mad about the money. How could I have such an amount? One hundred and twenty was already so much to give out at once, but nine hundred is absurd.. And he knows very well that I can't even ask my parents for money.
Why are you getting so weird Jimin?
The more time gets by, the more I struggle to recognize you ...
[...]
In the end, one way or another, Jimin managed to get to school anyway; he sat in his place next to me like he used to do, but he didn't even give me a glance; I tried talking to him several times but the only response I got was silence.
«Jeon, please don't talk, that's not how you usually behave» the professor scolded me, and I immediately apologized by taking a last look at Jimin before following the lesson.
The same thing went on repeating itself for the next five hours. Not a glance, nor a word, nothing at all.
Seriously, I can't understand. It had always been difficult to get Jimin to his limit and I had seen him this angry with someone only a couple of time, but I'd have never thought that someday, I would've become the person he could be so angry with.
«Jimin, please.. You're my best friend, you can't have possibly taken it this seriously, it's not my fault I don't have all that money..» I tried again, but ended up archieving nothing.
He even went so far as to not wanting me to sit next to him in the bus, consequently sitting down next to a random girl and putting his headphones on.
You can't do this to me Jimin, not with the deep bond we have.
I kept looking at him, both on the bus and once we got off, when, without bothering to glance back, he started walking towards his house.
His behavior certainly makes me feel bad, but maybe there is no need to worry this much, maybe it's just a bad day.
Tomorrow, after having taken a rest, he'll realize that he has overreacted and we'll sort everything out.
