The Koopalings - Introduction

The Birth of Roy Koopa

In January of 1997, Sheila became pregnant with her second child. Morton Sr., who wasn't a Sr. yet, felt like it was happening too soon.

Sheila: I don't know, Morton, maybe this is a good thing.

Morton Sr.: I'm not sure. Besides, Ludwig was only one month old when he said his first word.

Sheila: Yeah, and it took him until he turned one YEAR old to learn the entire English language.

Morton Sr.: Ludwig truly is a special child.

Sheila: Yeah, but I don't think our next child will have that kind of development.

Morton Sr.: I know.

A few months later, June 7th to be exact, the egg was laid. Then in July, something happened.

Princess Peach was running over to Bowser's castle because Bowser sent her a ransom note saying Mario was kidnapped.

Bowser: At last, Princess Peach, you finally came to me!

Peach: Yeah, because you sent a ransom note saying you took Mario.

Bowser: Well, you probably don't know where he is!

Peach: You're right! I don't know where he is!

Bowser: Well, good luck finding him.

Peach had searched everywhere, but no sign of Mario.

A few hours later, Peach had finally found Mario until...

Bowser: SURPRISE!

Bowser slammed the door and locked Peach in the same cage that Mario was trapped in.

Bowser: It was all a trap! I set you up so that you and Mario could be trapped together!

Surely enough, Luigi, who realized Mario and Peach were missing, went to Bowser's castle to search for him.

Luigi: Where's Mario and Peach?

Koopa Troopa: Somewhere you'll never find her!

Thankfully, Luigi had a fire flower he found on his way to the castle. As soon as he touched it, he started blasting fireballs all over the place, but one accidentally flew into Luigi's face, and it hurt real bad. Luigi started running all over the place, knocking over Koopa Troopas and other enemies in the Mario world. Eventually, Luigi found Peach and Mario, but Bowser stood in the way.

Bowser: Well well well, if it isn't Luigi.

Luigi: I'm here to rescue my brother and Peach!

Bowser: You'll have to get through me first!

What Bowser didn't realize is that Mario found a way to break the cage open. All he had to do was throw a fireball outside the cage, then it bounced up to the rope holding the cage, burning the rope and breaking the cage.

Bowser was furious and ordered his army to stop them. Unfortunately, they were no match for Mario and Luigi's famous teamwork. Peach watched as she cheered on the brothers take down the Koopa army.

Bowser: No matter, I'm going to call my brother so this will be a two-on-two match.

Mario: (confused) Wait, you have a brother?

Bowser: Ugh, yes!

Luigi: Is he gonna fight me?

Bowser: Yep.

Mario: Oh boy.

Morton Sr. arrived as soon as he could.

Morton Sr.: I'm here! What should I do?

Bowser: Take care of Luigi while I deal with Mario.

Morton Sr.: Okay.

The pair of brothers faced off. Very soon, they all got tired. But Mario and Luigi snuck Peach out of the castle as soon as they could.

Bowser: Great, that's just great!

Morton Sr.: Well, I gotta get home.

Bowser: OK.

Morton Sr. walked back to see baby Ludwig taking his first steps!

Sheila: (excitedly) Morton, look!

Ludwig: I'm doing it!

Morton Sr.: All right, Ludwig!

Sheila: Oh, I'm so happy, I could cry! (starts crying tears of joy)

As time went by, Ludwig became more confident in everything he did. Then on November 28th, 1997, the egg hatched. It was another boy, and the parents named their new child, Roy.

Roy would grow up to be misbehaved, eventually being a bully and even hurting his siblings, especially Larry and Iggy, but he still lives to take down Mario and the Mushroom Kingdom, just like Bowser and the other Koopalings. If only Roy could show us what's beneath his shades, but he forbids us from looking, because he will destroy anyone who dares to look at it. And besides, the shades make him look cool. There are some people who don't think he is cool, though.
