One hour. It's been exactly one hour since he got stuck in this old dusty room with Athena. But who was to blame? Both of them were equally at fault; falling in while saving the other one.
90 minutes since Zues told both of them to do a tour of Mount Olympus and check what had to be restored after the war. The war had been rough on them, and even though the demigods had managed to keep everything more or less under control, there had been damages to the palace. A big part of it was in shambles, and the basements of the palace was almost crumbling to nothing.
4 hours since Amphitrite told him she couldn't do this anymore. She had grown tired of his affairs and now finally wanted to move out from the palace, just to move in with one of the minor gods. Was he heart broken? Maybe. Maybe not. He was somewhere relieved, Amphitrite was finally no longer around for him to have guilt pangs about his doings.
He looked around himself. The room was definitely one of the hidden emergency rooms the Cyclopes and the Hundred Handed Ones had built right after Zues took over Kronos. It was pretty big, but had very simple decor; a wooden desk, a bookshelf with loads of ancient books, an old dusty couch and one of those partition thingies. It also had swords, shields and spears hung on the wall, right next to the torches which had been lit up since when, no one knew.
From the decor, it didn't take him very long to realize who had styled this room, for this sort of architecture and accessories were unique to the Goddess of Wisdom alone.
Each of the Gods had got an emergency room for themselves to decorate, depending on the kind of War that was going down.He glanced over to Athena, who had already made herself comfortable on the couch and was reading a book on Ancient Titans.
How does she make herself so comfortable in this situation? We have been enemies for centuries now and she isn't even trying to get out of here.
He looked at the hole they had just fallen in from, which was now covered in rubble. They couldn't use their powers here, because of a dumb rule Zues had made centuries ago, but Zues hadn't envisioned that one day, two grown adult Gods will be stuck here, with no way out.
FLASHBACK TO NOT SO LONG AGO
Both of them went down the trembling steps slowly, trying not to have the palace crumble upon them. They were in the basement, with barely any light and vision. He silently cursed himself for being an idiot and not getting a torch, but Athena was the Wise one, she should've got it, right?
She was walking in front of him, being the bossy dominating Goddess she was, when she suddenly let out a yelp.
Her foot had twisted over a broken part of the stair and she bumped on the wall. The part of the palace they were in was so delicate that the walls around them started to crumble around them and the wall she had fallen upon, gave way to a new room.
She was dangling over the edge, close to falling in through the hole in the wall when Poseidon grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the edge while simultaneously glaring at her. She resisted his touch and swatted his hand away when a huge boulder was about to fall on him. He moved away, pushing Athena and himself through the hole, in to the room while trying to save himself.
They fell in, and the boulder fell on the hole, closing it as a bunch of rubble fixed the boulder in its position.
She gave him a death glare and turned away from him, walking towards the bookshelf.
FLASHBACK OVER
They hadn't spoken, or made any contact ever since. He was annoyed with her, but it was somewhere his fault as well. He wanted to be out of this room as soon as he could. He couldn't spend any more time with her. Her aloofness to the situation was driving him over the edge, making him want to burst this room out open.
