CHAPTER TEN

JERRY'S POV

Shall we? I ask them.

The both of them nod and we go straight to the car. I will be the one to  drive them because it's my treat. I open the door for Ashanti to hop in but Esther was first to make the move. Ashanti will have to seat at the back sit. I look at her and give her smile and she smiled back at me. Her smile keeps bursting my brain. She's so perfect.

As am driving, I keep looking at her through the mirror, she was busy with her phone and Esther is busy saying something that sound audible to me. We stop at the traffic light and I use that opportunity to take a good look at her.

We arrive at the cinema and I handover the tickets to them each. Before the movie start, I excuse myself. I enter the restroom, I look at myself in the mirror and dress my hair.

I should have invite them for horror movies. I smirk.

The movie last for 2hours and we are out, we walk to the where the card is parked. As I was about to unlock the door, I heard someone call Ashanti. She look at the direction, a guy with blonde hair wave at her. She walk to him and hug him and the guy peck her. My stomach erupt with anger mix with jealousy. Who the hell is he. I was fuming as I unlock the door. I sit in the driver seat and Esther was about to sit in the front also.

'Would you mind sitting at the back this time? I said not looking at her.

'why? She asked confused.

I scratch my hair for a good excuse "Em,,,, because,,,,, as in,,,,,, you sat here when we were coming, I was thinking if you could allow her sit here this time so it won't look partial" I said feeling stupid.

"Do you mean I should stand up for her, she cross her arm.

"Don't get me wrong, she's your friend and my guest, it won't be nice to keep her at the back all the time. I said trying to read her thoughts.

"Hmm, that smart of you. That big head of yours is full of ideas. She smiled.

Ashanti knock at the window and I open the door but to my surprise that same guy was standing with her.

Why will he have to follow her here. I hate him.

She hug him and bid him goodbye.

I drop Esther at the front of her. I drive out of the drive way and head to Ashanti's house. While driving the tension was high. We were silent and I focus on the road.

"Thanks, she said.

"For what? I keep driving.

"For the movie.

I look at her and nod "You are always welcome.

"I really enjoyed it, it has been long I watch film at the cinema". She sigh.

"How long?

"Two years ago"

"With who if may ask"

"Jones".

I wanted to ask who he is but the answer may break my heart "Okay," I drag the okay.

We finally arrive at her place. I switch off the ignition, come down and turn around to open her down. She smile as she step out of the car.

I walk her to the door and she search her purse for the key she open the door and she enter while I stand at the door.

"Ain't you coming in?

"No, I should let you rest, it's late already."

She smiled as she close the door. I stand there and stare at the door. As I am about to turn round the door open and I was embarrass.

"You haven't gone?

"I,,, I,,, wanted,,,, I wanted to ask if you could pay me a visit? I lied.

Your big head could have think of something more better but I love the idea.

"When?

"Anytime".

"I will give you a call to let you know".

"Okay, I will take my leave".

She walk me to the car as she play with her finger.. Why is she doing that? She might not be comfortable with me around  her. I think the earlier the better.

"Goodnight" I said as I start the engine. She wave.

"Goodnight" she said softly.

I drive away and look at her through the mirror until the darkness consume her  reflection.

I must confess my feelings to her.
