Leaving home was something I never expected doing but now I was finally doing it. Being 18 and having to raise yourself and your 15 year old brother was not an easy thing to do. Though it had been 4 months since my mom and dad both died, I still could never face the fact that they left.

I lived in Minnesota for my entire life. But the memory of my parents haunts me and I felt it was time to move. To me this was my best decision, since there was no one in my family to take care of me and Kyle.

My grandparents died when I was 13 and my parents had no siblings. So they were the only ones.

On the plane

As soon as I sat down I noticed there was one empty row with a window seat. Kyle grabbed it as fast as he could so no one else would get it. Anyways, after I sat down next to him, I noticed 4 guys who looked about 18 heading my way. One had a high blonde quiff, the one behing him had fire-engine red hair, the one behind him had dirty blonde curly hair, and the last one had dark brown hair with blond highlights.

"Michael, Ashton, and I call these seats," the one with the blonde quiff said. The one with dark brown hair and blonde highlights grumbled that he wouldn't get to sit with his friends so he plopped down next to me, while his friends sat behind me. Oh great I'm stuck with a bunch of guys on an airplane. Yippe (Note my sarcasm).

"Hi I'm Calum," he introduced.

"Adeline. Nice to meet you. Oh and this is my little brother Kyle," I replied. I don't like to think I'm a pretty girl because I'm not. I've got wavy dark brown hair and greenish eyes. But I mean, why should I care what he thinks. He's just some cute Australian guy I'm sitting next to. Psh I don't care. Ok I care.

"So you visting family in Sydney," Calum asked. Damn his accent is killing me.

"Uh no, uh actually I-I'm moving there,"I stuttered. God Adeline you're making a fool of yourslef. Why am I so bad at talking to guys.

"Wow that's pretty cool! What's your phone number because me and my mates actually live in Australia. We could give you some pointers," Calum suggested. Hmm, I guess I could get some help from him, but I would have to get to know him first.

"Sure, but under one condition. We have to get to know each other first."

"Ok. I'll start. My name is Calum Thomas Hood. I have a sister named Mali Koa. My moms name is Joy. I'm in a band the 3 of my mates behind us called 5 Seconds of Summer or 5sauce. Umm, I'm single. My favorite fruit is an apple. I have never eaten a waffle in my life. And, I'm 18 years old."

"Ok so, my name is Adeline Gabriel Thompson. I have one brother who's sitting next to us named Kyle. My parents are, well, not in my life anymore. My favorite colors are blue and purple. I love to sing. I'm also single and I love soccer." I listed.

"OMG!!!! I love soccer too!!!" He fangirled,"What position do you play?"

"I'd have to say...midfield or fullback."

We spent about an hour just discussing everything soccer, from shooting, passing, techniques, LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

"Damn, you really know your skills but the real question is are you all talk or can you take me on," he smirked.

"Any day, anytime," I fired back.

"Hey, soccer brains, shut up," fire-engine red hair complained.

"Heh, sorry about Michael, he can be an asshole sometimes," Calum explained.

"I HEARD THAT," Michael shouted and kicked Calum so hard he bounced forward.

"Jesus Micahel, don't break the seat," Calum complained. I couldn't help but giggle a bit.

*IN AUSTRALIA*

Once we got off the plane, I stretched out my body and made my way to the doors.

"ADDY, WAIT UP," Calum screamed. He ran up to me panting like a dog,"Kyle says that you guys dont have a car, so why don't we just give you a ride?"

"Uhh...I don't want this to be any trouble for you guys," I admitted sheepishly.

"Oh don't worry about that, Ash is driving, Luke will sit in the front, me and you in the middle, and Mikey and Kyle can sit in the back. We left our car in the parking garage since we were there for only 1 week. We have the space and you live nearby, so why not," he said.

"Ok thanks Calum, you're the best," I said. I still felt kind of guilty that Calum's going out of his way to take Kyle and I home, even tthough he insisted. I made my way back to the rest of the guys and made small talk with them as Ashton went to go get the car.

My mind soon began to think about why the guys were so nice to me. I mean I hadn't done anything nice to them, yet they still treated me like a normal person. Something that people never filed me as. I was cool, funny, caring, but very far from normal. I mean who would like buzzkill like me.

I was just hoping they wouldn't find the ugly side of me because that was something that could never be fixed, could it?
