June and George were noisy. They had no sense of what quiet was and how to keep a space in a state of tranquil for more than 5 minutes. So when they were tasked by Alex to be quiet and not disturb the sleeping figure, naturally, they decided to see how far they could take it without waking her. This included boiling the kettle, allowing the wind to slam doors shut and throwing things at each other.

They were giddy and acted like young children who were on a sugar high. Searching through their pockets, the duo had resorted to tossing a blue biro between them, in the hopes of entertainment while they waited for food. They could have easily travelled a few steps further into the flat and watched some telly in George's room, but where was the fun in that?

Throwing the clear casing of ink to the female, George moved towards the door of the kitchen and mouthed 'go long' to his date. Nodding in understanding, June pelted the pen across the room, but with a little too much force. Making a clear beeline to the unconscious female on the sofa, June threw her hands over her mouth and winced as contact was made. Laughing his head off, George saw this as a perfect opportunity to, not only cheer Athena up but to, allow June and Athena to meet for the first time.

George saw no harm in allowing the two females to converse, that was until Athena had assumed they were boyfriend and girlfriend. Despite it being near impossible for him to hear what the two were saying over his obnoxious laughter, he somehow managed to silence himself. Yet, simultaneously choking on literally nothing but air, causing him to spiral into a coughing fit.

Neither of them was opposed to this assumption, but both denied it, thinking they were saving the other from an uncomfortable conversation that they did not want to partake in. The regular cliché stuff.

After a few moments passed of the two females helping George, the door opened to reveal a slightly wet Alex who carried shopping bags. Due to June leaving George to help his flatmate with the shopping, Athena was now awkwardly patting him on the back, whilst he attempted to regain his normal breathing.

George hated what he was feeling. He couldn't help but feel a rope of jealousy tie around his heart and restrict his breathing once more. There was no viable reason for the 20-year-old to be jealous; after all, he knew that his Alex was infatuated with the girl next to him opposed to June. It was not like him to get agitated over small things like the girl he liked helping another guy with some shopping that he was clearly struggling with. Especially if this guy happened to be his best friend and flatmate.

June hated what she was feeling. She couldn't help but glance up every few seconds to look at the boy she adored, only to find him in another's arms. There was a clear display of affection between the pair in front of Alex and herself, whether it was purely platonic or not, June could not tell. She hoped, for both of them, that it was.

Plastering fake giddiness on her face, she made eye contact with a concerned Alex before looking down, almost in shame that she was about to mask her emotions. Shaking her head, June bent down and snagged an armful of junk food and went to steal George in order to take him to his room. Pulling his arm gently, hoping to not startle him, June pulled him down the small corridor, shouting a "Thank you!" behind her.

The tension in the air between the two was evident. The shift from the happy go lucky attitude that they had during their date compared to their obviously fake joy was enough to make the most extroverted person awkward.

"So, uh-"

"Yeah-"

"Oh shit, sorry, you go first,"

"No, no, it's fine, you go."

"The date was nice. Like really nice. Thank you."
