2.5: Picking Up The Pieces

Chapter 5: One secret revealed.

It is Sera's first birthday and all the guests are still talking amongst themselves whilst eating a late lunch and of course, birthday cake. Sera is upstairs and is in Joseph's arms after he has just read her a story, she yawns again, so he stops reading and puts her into a crib to nap. He waits with her for five minutes until she nods off, then he leaves the room and walks back downstairs to join the hubbub of conversation and to get a slice of cake before it is all gone. He sits with Andreas who is trying but ultimately failing to get little Cora to eat something, whereas little Alfie is sitting on Freya's lap eating everything he can reach. Hadriana is happy to see that Alexander and Maria are getting on quite well. About half an hour of conversation later, she sees him whisper in Maria's ear, she smiles and whispers something back. What Hadriana doesn't see though, is the exchange of looks between Alexander and Lucille before he whispered to Maria. He then gets up and heads upstairs. Hadriana thinks this is a good sign and smiles proudly to herself as about five minutes later, Maria gets up and leaves the room. Two minutes after that, Lucille excuses herself. At that moment Hadriana decides that Luis needs a nap too.
"Seb, I am going to take this little man for a nap too, he is yawning his little head off and he is getting a bit crabby too... I will be back soon."

He kisses her cheek.
"Alright sweetheart, are you alright to go yourself?"
She bundles Luis up.
"I am, it is alright... You have some of that cake before it disappears."
He grins.
"Hah I will, my strawberry cake always goes down very well! I should have made two..."
She gets up and then ruffles Seb's hair.
"Heh, yes... Do that for Luis' first birthday please, one for us and one for everyone else!"
She winks playfully at him.
"Haha I think I will. On you go... He's almost dead to the world."
She lifts Luis so that his head is resting on her shoulder.
"He is... I will be back soon, alright?"
She kisses his cheek and then heads up the stairs, she takes Luis to the nursery where Sera is sound asleep, she is surprised that Alexander is not there as he usually checks on Sera after about half an hour. She shrugs, thinking nothing more of it and checks on Sera herself, she is still sound asleep and showing no signs to the contrary. She rocks Luis for just a few minutes and sings a little lullaby for him before his little head drops on her shoulder, she places him in the large crib next to Sera. She just sits and admires them for a minute or so, the two adorable little dark haired toddlers, sleeping peacefully next to one another.

She then leaves the room and walks down the hallway, but she stops short when she hears what sounds like muffled gasps of pleasure coming from the storage room. So she goes to investigate. The door is a little ajar and there is a oil lamp or some kind of light source lit in there, so she decides to look in and is both shocked but also strangely happy about what she sees. She sees Alexander from the back, nude from the waist down but still wearing an unbuttoned shirt. She then sees a pair of arms wrap around the back of his neck and weave into his hair just as he leans forward and starts kissing someones neck. She can't see the woman's face, however, as he is rather tall. She naturally assumes that the woman is Maria. She watches for just another twenty seconds as a pair of women's legs wrap around his waist and he slides into her soliciting a sharp, delightful moan. Hadriana stops watching at that point and disappears back down the stairs, mildly turned on, thinking to herself.
'So that is where those two went... I hope it works out for them, they are a good match, and Gods does he have an absolutely perfect backside... I would expect nothing less though.'

She keeps walking and gets to the dining room, although she is confused when she sees that Maria is there talking to Seb. She then gets a strange feeling in the pit of her stomach as she realises that the only other woman missing from the table is Lucille. She thinks anxiously to herself.
'So if Maria is here... And Lucille is not... Then... Oh Gods... They are having an affair... Can I keep this to myself? Should I? Gods, why must I be so nosy?! I have to speak to Alex about this later, I cannot tell Seb, he has looser lips than a common whore...'
