I held my books in one hand and my brush in the other as I walked through the hallway alone. I'd gotten so used to walking around with my shorty on my arm that it almost felt wrong when I was without her.

Mari wouldn't be back in school until his face was fully healed up, or he would be with me right now. There had been too many times he came to school with bruises, cuts, and scrapes so by now they were watching him closely.

The fact that he no longer lives at home could get him into even more trouble, so I was just playing my role and getting all of his work from his classes so he wouldn't fall behind.

I began brushing my hair as I grew annoyed with everyone that was just standing around like school wasn't over with and people ain't have nowhere to be.

In the midst of me walking some girl who wasn't paying attention bumped into me and I would've walked around her or did something to prevent it, but the hallway was so crowded a nigga couldn't even do shit.

My books fell from my grasp and I dropped down to get them, not even bothering to say a word to the girl. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." The girl says, bending down to help and I took the book from her before gathering the other 2 and then standing to my normal height.

"The least you could do is accept my apology." she says with a attitude and I looked at her like she was fucking stupid before just shaking my head and walking around her and her group of weak ass friends.

I pushed the double doors open that lead to the stairs and jogged down them before heading in the direction of babygirl's class. She stood beside the lockers talking to some nigga and I furrowed my eyebrows at the sight.

We haven't made shit official with us yet, but I at least thought we had a understanding. I wasn't out here talking to other girls, so I felt like I deserved the same respect.

I didn't like how close he was, or how she was just allowing that nigga to be all up in her personal space. She barely allowed me to be up in her space so I was really pissed.

I decided to just walk off. Since she was so busy talking to that nigga I hoped she could cop a ride from his ass because I was definitely about to leave her friendly ass here and never talk to her again.

"Baby" I could hear her voice from behind me and without even thinking about it, I turned around to see her and that nigga approaching. I switched my books to my other hand and stuffed my brush in the pocket of my jeans just as she wrapped her arms around my waist to hug me, and I just stood there waiting for it to be over.

"Damn I can't get a hug now?" she frowned and I sucked my teeth but still pulled her into me and held her against my chest until I felt it was time to let go, then I gave her a peck on the lips before releasing her.

She had the biggest smile on her face making me smile a little too. I then looked towards the nigga and nodded my head towards him and he returned it, extending his hand in the process. "I'm Zay." He introduces himself and I slapped hands with him before introducing myself as well.

The nigga looked familiar and as I looked at him I recognized him as one of the niggas that was there the night I killed Jamirah's ex. It seemed like everywhere I went them niggas was popping up and it wasn't sitting right with me.
