The rest of the day dragged on, just as you feared it would. You kept nodding off during your classes, but seeing as how the teachers didn't really care one way or the other, they didn't bother you.
Eventually you managed to reach the end of the school day, and you winced, knowing that there were four more days to go for the week. How long were your parents going to be gone? You couldn't remember.
Surprisingly, Teddy was waiting for you by the school entrance, smiling gently. His smile faded a little once he got a good look at you, however. "You really don't look well," he murmured.
You only frowned, annoyed by now. "That's what fucking happens when I can't sleep."
"Have you tried meditating?"
"I've tried everything," you replied. The tone of your voice spelled out defeat. But you knew damn well that falling asleep wasn't the issue, it was the nightmares.
They had only been happening for a couple of weeks, but it was enough to have worn you down a good deal. They had started out as a feeling of dread in total darkness. Soon there were eyes, glowing like a demon's would in the pitch black.
Just last night, another lovely feature had been added. Teeth. Not just any teeth, oh no; these were razor sharp, and impossibly long. You could only imagine what sort of horrific monstrosity they belonged to.
Quite frankly, you didn't want to find out.

You trudged through your front door soon enough, having not spoken to your neighbor as you walked the entire way back. You just had nothing to say.
But he wants me to come over and meet his brother. Ugh... I'm too sleepy for this.
Changing out of your school clothes you finally made up your mind to go, but not without some coffee first. You didn't want to make a bad impression and fall asleep there. You drank it quickly, ignoring the burning in your throat, before leaving the house again. With a sigh you knocked at Teddy's front door.
The man that answered could only have been his brother; he was a bit taller, older, but had the same tanned skin and vivid eyes.
A feeling of dejá vu washed over you, and you had to physically control yourself from shaking. You had no idea why the sensation had even passed; you knew no one like these two. Right?
The man offered a hand, which you took hesitantly, wondering if the dejá vu would strike you again. It didn't, and you relaxed. "Hello, my dear. My name is Freddy," the man smiled gently towards you. Stepping aside he ushered you in. "I do believe you live across the street from us, correct? At least that's what Teddy tells me," he added, sounding mildly amused.
You just nodded, trying not to shy away from the man. He was awfully tall and stocky, the type that could lift you and shatter your spine in one fluid motion. It was a terrifying thought, and you tried valiantly to push it away, smiling a tiny bit.
Freddy said no more, eyeing you in a curious sort of manner before retreating into the kitchen, just as Teddy came into the living room. He had changed out of his hoodie and into a white dress shirt, with a brown vest and black bow tie. Why was he so dressed up? Did he assume that inviting you over meant that it was a date?!
He must have sensed your confusion, for the younger male lifted his hands in defense. "I know what you're thinking, but this is just how I'm used to dressing. We were m--... brought up that way. To dress nicely for other visitors."
Nodding, you made your way to their sofa, sinking into it gratefully. Teddy sat nearby in an overstuffed chair, watching you. "We only have one class together, so I didn't really get to talk to you," he spoke quietly. "What's your life like? What do you like to do?"
"I like to sleep and my hobby includes not sleeping," you muttered, a little sour. Guilt struck you, and you looked down at the floor. "I'm sorry. I'm not always like this..."
Teddy just chuckled. "No, I get it. Sleep deprivation is a hell of a thing. How long has it been going on?"
You shrugged. "Maybe two weeks."
"Is... this the first time?" When you nodded, his face turned to one of concern. "Are you just stressed out over school?"
"Teddy, perhaps asking so many personal questions might drive the young lady away?" Freddy had reappeared in the living room, his sleeves rolled up and a small towel over one shoulder. You could hear running water in the kitchen sink. He smiled down at you again. "Please forgive him, we... we move an awful lot. It's difficult to keep friends, and he doesn't mean to be so clingy."
"I'm not clingy, you overgrown freak," you heard the younger male mutter, and you turned away with a hand over your mouth, trying not to giggle.
"It's fine, it's fine," you waved a hand at him. "I don't really have friends to talk to. Like I said, I didn't mean to snap at you. I guess I'm just cranky."
"Nightmares?" Freddy asked curiously. You paused, swallowing a lump in your throat. How had he known? "My dear, they're nothing to be ashamed over. Many of us have them." He shook his head and retreated back into the kitchen, murmuring to himself.
"Most of us have nightmares nowadays," Teddy continued where Freddy had left off. His face had turned somber. "Especially Freddy. He doesn't sleep well, either. None of us do."
"You talk like there are more of you." You raised your eyebrows a little.
"There is. There's a whole bunch of us. If you want, I can introduce you later, but not right now. They're still trying to get settled into their new houses, too."
"... how many are there?"
He paused, thinking it over. "Altogether there's ten of us. Two of them are still on their way, they should be here in maybe a week."
You just nodded, wondering just how big their group was. But you frowned a touch. "I thought you said you don't have friends."
"They're closer to family," Teddy smiled before looking away. "We've known each other for a real long time. I actually can't remember any time without them."
