I walked out of my job interview with mixed feelings. I'm excited about this job but Kenny is going to kill me once he finds out. I made it back home and my house was empty inside. I grabbed my phone and face timed my fiance.
"What?"
"I see someone still angry"
"Yeah my soon to be wife, went against my wishes, my brother is dead, and oh yeah the brother that is alive is running my company to the ground."
"I'm sorry your going through all of this Ken, I really am"
"Whatever, did you get the job"
"Yes 2nd grade teacher"
"Congratulations" Kenny said sarcastically making Toni sigh
"Anyway I ordered the cake for the wedding, and I finally finished the guest list"
"My brother just died and your talking about a wedding"
"How about you sleep on the couch tonight, because I cant take to much more of your anger"
"How about I dont come home at all"
"Fine by me" Toni added hanging up the phone

I threw my phone down, I swear that woman is a handful. I put my car in park before I went into my job, hopefully I can make this shit right again.
"Hi boss" Meghan said cheerfully
"Hello, listen today no games I need numbers up by 70% today"
"That's impossible we would be here all night"
"Well I guess your going to be here all night, get it done"
"Yes sir, and you have someone waiting in your office"

"I dont know, she said her name is Evelyn"

I walked into my office, and Evelyn was sitting down in a chair drinking one of my cokes from my mini fridge.
"Hi can I help you"
"Well yes, how are you son"
"I'm great, Kenny said sitting down in his chair
" My daughter was telling me some things that I really dont like"

"Start off by saying I'm sorry for your brother, but that gave you no excuse to get sloppy drunk. Secondly she said your very controlling"
" I'm sorry Mrs. Evelyn, but I'm very old school. I was taught that the man was in charge, If your daughter would stop giving me so much trouble we wouldn't go through this.
"When I introduced you all, I told you to take good care of her"
"I take great care of her, she lacks for nothing"
"She does lack Kenny, let down your guard sometimes, yes you take care of her physically, but you also have to take care of her heart"
"Yes mam, anything else"
"One more thing"
"Yes?"
"When is this wedding, I'm sick of the hold up"
"When I find time, we will have this wedding, I don't see why me and Toni can't have a small intimate wedding"
"The Braxtons do nothing small, I have to go play Bingo and I'll see you later.
Kenny
As my mother in law walked out, Toni came in ughhh I can never get any work done.
"Your not mad anymore"? Kenny said snacking her booty
"I'm pissed, but I had to come up here and see you, when you said you weren't coming home tonight".
"I'm sorry I was just angry, I cant sleep without you next to me baby"

I walked over to him and we started kissing. Even though he acts tough, hes the biggest sweetheart.
"Kenny this wedding thing, is a strain on us. I say fuck the wedding and we elope.
"Baby if you want your dream wedding I'm going to give you that"
"I dont care about all that anymore let's just get married at the courthouse baby just you and me ok"
"If that's what you want" I grabbed her hand and kissed it.
"So any news about the funeral"
"No mama said she is handling all that, I just can't believe this happened"

I reached up and pecked his lips, and I felt my feet leave the ground.

I sat in the hallway watching them. I watched as he touched every part of her, I belong with him and he belongs to me. Hes stupid if he thinks hes going to forget about me and our daughter.
