We're seated, and Sebastian orders red wine for us both. Since I've never been here before I let him order for me. He's the first to ask questions about my life after high school. All I tell him is that I went to community college for four years, and got my associates in business. Then I started to work for Chris' company as an intern for a year, and after that year Chris promoted me as his P.A. Which made half of the company hate me. Apparently, I was too young to be a P.A but little did they know, is that I have a degree. They all thought I was just fresh out of high school, and I was given the job because of my father.
Sebastian goes to tell me he works in finance and loves where he works. He has the opportunity to become someone big in the company. The way his face lights up when he's talking about it, makes me happy. He's finally doing something he likes, well more like loves.
"When was the last time you went out and had fun?" he questions.
"Last weekend actually. I went out and had a couple of drinks." I smile.
"That's all? You don't hit the town, and go clubbing?"
"No, not really I've only been to one club, and I already told you it was Omina. Which is here." I state.
"I know that, but come on Astrid. There has to be more you've done to have fun. Don't tell me all you do is work?"
"That's pretty much all I do Sebastian. I like the lifestyle I live, therefore I have to bust my ass to keep it." I simply say.
"Seems pretty boring. All you do is work." His voice is bland.
"So, therefore, I'm boring?" I question.
"I never said that." he pauses as the waiter places a basket of bread in the middle of the table, and pours our wine. The waiter quickly dismisses himself, and I look at Sebastian. "You have to go out more. Live life, there more to life than just working." he says as he reaches for his glass of wine.
"I go out as much as I can. We're what? Twenty-four? We can't always have that childish mentality Seb. I partied when I was younger, now I work and work hard for what I have. I can't waste my money on clubs and drinks." I say truthfully. Ever since I graduated high school, I was more mature than everyone else. That's why I hardly ever had friends. While everyone was busy getting wasted on prom night, I was applying for scholarships.
Sebastian looks at me, and he's about to say something but the waiter places our plates in front of us. I look down and my steak looks to die for.
"I meant, go out and see the world, Astrid." he laughs.
"Oh."
"Maybe I made it seem like I party a lot but trust me I don't. I'll probably go out for drinks once or twice a month, but that's about it. I do like to waste my money on traveling."
"Where have you gone?" I ask as I take a bite of my steak.
"London, Paris, Greece, Australia, and Brazil." he smiles proudly.
As we eat he goes into details about his trips, and why he went to each country. Apparently, he chose London first because he had a concert there, and the rest were chosen out of a hat. He plans on going to the Bahamas and Bora Bora when his next quarter's number go through, and he gets his next bonus. Which when I come to think of it, I've never gotten a bonus at my job.
"I got this." He says as the waiter places the check on our table.
"Uh no, let me play at least." I hand him over my card.
"I invited you out, therefore I pay." He smiles.
"Fine, but I'll pay next time we go out. Deal?"
