Epilogue

The sound of running feet and the rustling of grass informed Kipp there was another female behind him. He had lost the last girl several meters back. A new one found his trail. Screams and cheers sounded in the distance. The chase must be drawing to an end soon. He had been running for nearly a half hour.

For a six-inch sprite, Kipp discovered he was lite on his feet. He assumed he had several foot races in his former life; the life where he was possibly a six-foot man instead of half a foot tall. Hearing the girl getting closer, Kipp turned left and pushed through thick grass. His plan was to lose her in the bushes.

However, where he expected to find solid ground, he found mud. Kipp stumbled. The huge collection of mud cushioned his fall. Kipp pushed himself up and found himself stuck in a giant mud pond. It would be a mere ten inches to a normal-sized human. He slowly rose to his feet, trying to make as little noise as possible. After several minutes had passed, Kipp assumed the girl had lost his trail. His plan of outrunning the girls had worked, but not as well as he had hoped.

The sound of flapping giant wings, warned him a bird was approaching. Kipp leaned back against the soft grass for cover.  However, he evidently was not ensconced sufficiently enough, for the black swan landed in the marsh near Kipp.

The tiny man, covered in a thick glob of mud, watched the wings tuck in and the swan steered straight for Kipp. His gaze moved up to the neck and found a harness attached to the dark swan's beak. Holding to the reins and steering the large bird was a long-legged female sprite. Minna.
