Chap 3

KIA POV

“What??? NO!!! NO!!! NO!!! Father let me get this clear, I'm not going to marry anyone!”

Father cough a little before saying “I know this is so sudden, but it’s final! I know it might be too much to ask, but I think this is  good for your future”

“Father, I’m still 20 years old! How can you force your child to marry someone that she don’t even know?!”

“For my defends you know him, both of you know him. He is the son of the owner of the Rachawat resident that I work for”

“Father that doesn’t make any different . The point is, how dare you make decision like that before you discuss it with me?!” I almost shout my lung out at father. I keep hitting the table, foot stomping the floor, furrow my eyebrow because I don’t know what to do.

“Why they want their son to marry your child?” Kao suddenly make a sound.

“Yes, father! Enlighten us, why?”

“Well, They want their son to marry someone that they know and they trust into their family. They did have candidates, but apparently they always find some problem with the family or the candidate. So the decision from the Madam is to marrying their son to my child, which is you.”

“So, you just agree to that?” Kao curious.

“I’m surprise at first. But the Madam convince me that this is good for your future and everyone future. So yes I agree. Like I said this is final, and I hope you agree to this  and prepare your self for the wedding in one week.”

I’m pulling my hair and growling. Kao beside me just looking at me.

“I have to go back to the Rachawat residence and inform them that everything is settle.” Father walk to his car and drive away.

Kao suddenly pat me at the back. I know he try to comfort me, but my mind is a mess right now.

KAO POV

It’s been 3 days after Father told us about the arrange married thing. Kia never coming straight home after school, She always went out with her friends and come home late and went early to school the next day. Even I didn’t have a chance to talk to her about it.

The first recess I went to Kia’s class try to find her. But she’s not in the class. I feel a pat on my shoulder “Kia, why are you still here? I thought you and Alice already went to the library”

The girl name Mook just talk to me like I am Kia. Maybe with the same hair cut people really can’t tell us apart.

“En, I’m going there now”

I hurry turn around and run a little to the library. In the library I found Kia, Alice and Lee  sitting near the corner. Before I have a chance to call her I over heard their talk.

“I will be ready around 1am at the park near your house. Don’t bring too much stuff, it will be hard for you to climb that front door.”

Kia replying “ I know OK, I only bring a lot of undies. I can always wear your shirt didn’t I” They are chuckle a little.

"Oh come on, you girls have to talk about that infront of me?" Lee is the only guy in Kia's bestfriend list, so he already get use of the girls talk.

What did I just heard?

Did Kia plan to run away from home? Without me?

I’m shock, I went back to my class instead of talk to Kia about what I just heard.

At night I waited for her in the living room. She’s a little bit startled when she saw me still sitting on the sofa.

“Geez Kao, are you trying to give me a heart attack!”

“You haven’t see me for 3 days, now you startled to see me? Where did you go?”

“Why, did you miss me that much? I went out with Alice and Lee.” Kia still talking with me with normal tone.

“Have you eat? I cooked Udon for dinner, and I left some on the pan”

“Oh, I love your udon Kao. But I’m full now. I will be in my room if you need me” Kia heading to the stairs like nothing happened.

“Will you always be in your room when I need you?”

Kia stop and turn around “What do you mean?”

I can’t pretend anymore, I have to let out my feeling right here right now.

“Will you always be there when I need you? Because I saw you pack some stuff in your room. Are you going somewhere?”

Kia bitting her lower lips and put down her bag on the floor.

“I don’t expect you to understand me Kao. But I’m not going to marry some random guy that Father choose. I’m not going to throw away my future like that.”

“What is your plan Kia? What is your future? Isn’t your future include me, your brother? Why don’t you tell me?” My voice got so shaky, because I’m so mad and sad at the same time.
Kia let go one long breath.

“I’m sorry I keep a secret from you Kao. I don’t want to let you know yet, but if you insist. I’ve been modeling for the past few months now. There’s where the money for the medicine that I kept buying for you coming from, I start to earn money now. Yesterday I got warning from the company because I cut my hair short. Now father said I have to marry a guy that I don’t know. I’m not going to do that to my life. You see I’m creating my future Kao, I was planning to save some money and rent a condo for us to live. I will do my modeling job while you can continue your study because you good at it. I want us to live our own life and not depending on father anymore.”

Tears from Kia’s eyes was running all over her cheek. I don’t relies my cheek is already wet too.

What am I doing? I never think any of that at all. Kia is been planning not only for her future but our future too.

Kia wiping her tears and continue “I’m not going to the wedding that’s final! I’m running away tomorrow, Alice and Lee  going to help me. Do you want to come?”

Kao didn’t prepare for this. That "final" decision is the same as father, like father like daughter they do have the same hard head.

“What about father? What about his work at Rachawat residence if you didn’t show up?”

“I don’t care Kao! He only care about his work more than us, he stay at Rachawat more than with us. I’m going to live my own life my own way. Are you coming with me or not it’s your choice.”

Kia grab her bag and went to her room. I was speechless, shock, worried, sad, mad, I don’t even know what else that I feel right now.
