Pete POV

Rachawat Resident

“Good morning dear!”

“Mom, you guys are back! How was your trip?” I lean on her to hug and kiss her.

“Good, but we miss you. Where is your wife?”

“She is back to University, and she have morning classes today.”

“Oh, too bad…I miss her too.”

I continue my breakfast with accompanied by my mom. 

“Pete, look at this!”

Mom take an envelope out of her purse.

“What is it? An invitation? Whose wedding is it?”

“No, it’s not a wedding invitation. It’s a Fashion show invitation.”

“Who is the designer? MukMuk? Never heard of the brand, and since when you like to attend a fashion show Mom?”

“Since it’s your sister’s!”

I almost choke on my coffee. P’Mook?

“What??? Really? In Bangkok?”

“Yeah, I guess she did well in Paris so now she’ll be able to come back to Bangkok. So proud of her!”

Wow, I can’t believe she done it. She’s living her dream as fashion designer now. Dad used to prohibit her to become a fashion designer, that’s why she left the house to God’s know where. I think she’s come back here and hold a fashion show just to show him that she can be a successful fashion designer.

Soon after Dad comes in to join us. He saw the invitation and said nothing about it.

“Pete, I will go to the office with you. We have document to sign.”

“What document Dad?”

“My retirement and your chairman position.”

“I thought I told you I want to postpone the decision. I’m not ready Dad.”

“Son, if we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our life. You are never be 100% ready and it’s never will be just the right time. You just do it, that makes you ready.”

“Do you think I’m ready Dad?”

I’m scared, I don’t think I’m ready to take that responsible from him.

“Son, after I heard what you did for the event and after I heard some feedback from your uncles. I think you are ready. We will always be here to help you and supporting you.”

Dad pat my shoulder, he makes me believe in myself. I looked at him and nodded my head.

“Ok, let’s do it.”

Vihokratana Office Tower

Our legal lawyers and the board are gather in the meeting room. Today will be the last day for my Dad to be the Chairman of Vihokratana Group and the first day for me as the new Chairman.

I saw every body in the room including uncle Somsak who've been disappear from the earth since last weekend is here.

“Let’s put our hand together to thanked Mr. Sakda Vihokratana for his dedication for our Group. And to welcome Mr. Pete Vihokratana as the new Chairman of Vihokratana Group.”
