A group of travellers have set sail on a ship in exploration, searching for a rumoured land filled with riches. As they embark on their journey, they fall victim to a violent storm and their ship is lost to the sea. To some luck, a few of the passengers on board escape the storm and wash up on a desolate island, where they are left to survive on their own. After living by for many days and with no contact from the outside world, they gather around and bring all their resources to a single table. With a few salvaged parts from their former ship, the survivors attempt to create a plan for their rescue. Unfortunately, they soon discover that with their limited resources, only a small handful of people are capable of operating on their escape boat. The miniature team is gathered for the voyage, sailing off the next morning to find help. Taking with them a one-way radio, the volunteers are given instructions to report news of their progress back to the Islanders, whenever they can. With food running low, the expedition soon faces death, when suddenly one day they discover land. As they safely arrive on its shores, the days go quiet and no news is heard from them. When the Islanders finally receive a response from the expedition again, they are told by a voice of the faith that befell the rest of the planet, as they were stranded on the island. An unforeseen plague had sprouted amongst the people, causing irreparable damage to their societies and bringing the world to a halt. The cure to the plague had however been successfully discovered, and now the few remaining societies of the planet are attempting to eradicate the disease from their daily lives. Due to this fact, the voice claims that no sufficient help could be gathered to help the Islanders and that it will take some time before a rescue mission could be assembled. Telling the islanders that they will remain in touch if any further news occurs, no more reports are heard from them after their final message. Unbeknownst to the Islanders, the escapees had, in fact, fabricated their story and had washed up on the legendary land of gold. Fearing the islanders would attempt to create a second expedition, the liberated group of survivors had unanimously decided to deceive the Islanders, so that they could gain more riches for themselves and not fear dissatisfaction. The islanders believing their story to be true, remained put on the island, as their resources slowly ran out

The sound of cannon fire. The soldiers serving under the Order of St John haven't spend a single day without the terrifying sound of the enemy guns, bombarding relentlessly at the people who dared to stand against them. Day after night, the walls of St Michael are slowly turned into dust. In under 30 days, the air of the island of Malta had been transformed into the scent of hundreds of rotting Janissary corpses. With an enemy force fifty times bigger than their own, the hope of the knights was at its brink. Unaware to the warriors of Christ, the Turkish engineers were digging mines under their very feet, and with a few well-placed explosives have successfully sealed the fate of the walls of the fortress. On the command of the Turkish general, the earth beneath the fortress gave way and caved in, bringing down with it one of the towers of St Michael. A thick grey fog of dust now filled the area where the remaining knights of the walls garrison now stood, and in their ears then poured the sound of hundreds of enemy troops rushing towards them. "All is lost!" the knights of Malta cried in panic "We must retreat to St Angelo!" The red banners as their lead followed the Turks into the ruins of the destroyed fortress, but the battle has not yet over. With the sounds of the church bells signalling the enemies breach, one man stood ready in the settling dust. With a pike in his hand, one man stood as an example of the piety of the Hospitaller knights. But he would not be alone. With a tremendous cry, the warriors of the cross rushed with one true God as their leader into battle. This time it was not the Hospitaller knights who were the ones in a panic. As the skirmish raged on, and the knights fought against unthinkable odds, a grenade thrown by one of the Turkish vanguards landed alongside the man who leads them, and it's tremendous blast buried shrapnel inside his left leg. Seeing their leader wounded, the men lost all fear and dashed with rage towards the infidels to protect their master. "Withdraw Sire! Withdraw to a place of safety!" urged one of the knights to his master. "The enemy is in retreat!" "I will not withdraw", he said to the knight beside him, "so long as those banners still wave in the wind". These are the words spoken by the Grandmaster Jean Parisot de la Valette during the height of the Great Siege of Malta. Words were spoken by a man who lived by the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. A man who offered himself to God in service to the sick and poor. A knight's faith that would ring down in infamy.
