Jungkook was immediately placed in room 103 with Park Jimin and Jo Youngmin. Jo Youngmin was currently in a coma from a bad car accident, so the two other boys felt as though they were alone in a private room. With their beds right next to each other, they entangled their fingers together tightly to show each other they were okay.
"Jungkook, I can't wait until we get out of here. I want to go to the park and enjoy the pretty nature. We can walk around in the sun and talk about anything. Can we do that?" Jimin asked his boyfriend hopefully.
The younger turned his head to look over at his daydreaming boyfriend. "Yeah. And I can try to get out of the gang, too. Just like you wanted so we can be happier together and only spend time with each other. Only each other, though."
"Why?"
"Because you're the only guy I want to spend the rest of my life with."
"You're so cheesy, Kookie," Jimin giggled happily.
"We can get one of those big dogs too, so it can protect us when we go on adventures,"
"Adventures to where?" Jimin asked as he directed his gaze to the muted tv on the far side of their room.
Jungkook hummed for a moment and put a finger thoughtfully on his chin. "Maybe to the ghetto part of town to go see my asshole of a father."
The smaller boy bit his lip. He knew how mean Jungkook's father had been to him. His hand gripped Jungkook's even tighter.
Noticing the sudden change in his lover, Jungkook decided to try to change the mood. "And to go wherever else you want to go for adventures. Like, I don't know, downtown Seoul or something like that."
"But how will that be an adventure? I have been everywhere in Seoul,"
Jungkook wiggled his eyebrows suggestively. "Not the way I'm thinking of it,"
Jimin shrieked with laughter.
"Yah! What's so funny?" Jungkook demanded playfully.
"You," Jimin answered, turning his face to the younger.
Jungkook scrunched his nose up. "You're gross,"
"I know," Jimin giggled.
They held each others hand even tighter as a nurse walked in with a smug look and a large clipboard. Long blonde hair waved about her shoulders as she walked past Youngmin. She snorted snobbishly once she reached the couples beds. "Jeon Jungkook, you're healing well and will be able to leave soon. The doctor wanted me to tell you the good news about your fast healing, but I'm sure you notice it all on your own. That is all."
She turned to leave, a soft voice calling after her. "What about me?"
"Park Jimin." The nurse flipped a page on her clipboard. "You're still scheduled for the end of this week, possibly the beginning of next week. Is there anything I can get you since you are a special patient?"
Jimin bit his lip with worry. He felt Jungkook grip his hand tightly for support. Taking a deep breath, he allowed himself to speak. "Will I be okay?"
The nurse looked over her shoulder, sympathy wiped across her face. "Would you like something to eat?"
After that day, the first day together in that room, Jimin had began to talk less to his boyfriend. He seemed to only stare out the window blankly. Jungkook worried for him, reaching for a hand that had been retracted hours ago.
On the fourth day, Jungkook rolled Jimin around in his new wheelchair. He was too weak to walk now, so Jungkook didn't mind taking him around the hospital, singing to him about beautiful yesterdays and hopeful tomorrows. Jimin would giggle and begin singing with him, the pair bringing smiles to patients they passed even though Jimin rasped more than he sang. Nurses and doctors would eye them as they wooshed down the hallways imagining that Jimin was running alongside his beloved. Laughing and singing together, they had forgotten all about the answers they hadn't received.
After a good fifteen minutes of rushing down hallways, Jimin made Jungkook stop at a wide window. Sunlight came in warmly, trees swaying outside to say hello. Jimin smiled. "Jungkook, I want you to walk with me out there one day. Under the trees and eat ice cream..."
Jungkook smiled and crouched down next to Jimin's wheelchair, wincing at the pain in his right leg that he still had from getting beat up by ToppDogg that seemed like long ago. He nuzzled into Jimin's once muscular shoulder and sighed contently. "We can do anything you want once we get out, Jiminnie," Jungkook breathed in Jimin's manly scent that hadn't been completely covered by the antibacterial hospital smell.
"Once we get out," He echoed.
The seventh day came around, taking away Jimin's voice.
"It looks to beautiful outside today, Jiminnie." Jungkook cooed to his lover who was lying in his white bed.
A tired smile stretched across the smaller boys face, not reaching his watery eyes.
"Maybe when we get out of here," Jungkook paused to take a deep breath. Holding in sobs, he continued as happily and hopefully as he could, "we can go for a walk out in pretty weather like this. We can run and enjoy the peacefulness. Then we can go to a flower garden and share a kiss, just like our first kiss was in a garden. Do you remember that, Jimin?"
A tiny nod answered Jungkook.
He shifted in his chair to reach an arm out. He grabbed Jimin's hand lightly, his boyfriends fingers too weak to intertwine their fingers. "And we can go to Seoul and resee everything together," Jungkook paused to listen to the heart monitor that was connected to Jimin. Jungkook had been able to go home for three days now, but he refused to leave Jimin's side. A tear slipped down his cheek as he continued listening to the slow moving beats. "Do you remember that day that I bumped into you? I felt like such a dick when you fell, but that was when I realized how much more my feelings meant for you." Jungkook forced a laugh that sounded more like a sad wail. "And when we went on our first date, and you ate so much food that I had to carry you out?"
Jimin's eyes closed softly.
"And our second date at the movies when you laughed so hard that your soda went out your nose?" Tears were blinding him now, but he didn't notice as he continued babbling on to a not listening jimin. "And that one time that you dropped your ice cream and that swarm of children came up and licked it off the ground?" Jungkook scrunched up his nose. "That was really gross."
Jimin's hand went limp in Jungkook's.
"And the first time we said I love you," Jungkook laid his head down on Jimin's forehead, crying silently into Jimin's soft hair. "I love you Jimin, I will always love you,"
Jimin's eyes flickered open at the sudden feel of wetness on his face. Tears, he thought , my Kookie's tears.... He attempted to tighten his hand around his boyfriends. He wanted to comfort him and hold him and tell him everything would be alright. He wanted to pick up his crying boyfrind and carry him out of this place and never look back. Everything in his body was numb, but somehow he could feel Jungkook's arms wrap around his fragile body.
"Baby, stay with me. Please, don't go yet. We st-still h-haven't go-gon-gone out-side in-hic-the wa-warm sun," Jungkook stuttered between sobs as he felt Jimin's hand twitch.
We will go out in the warm sun, and under the trees.
I promise.
