-Kali-

"Hey Colbs. How was Florida?" The voice that echoed in my ears, made me feel sick to my stomach.

"It was good dude. We found a lot of places to check out. Got about four videos pre-recorded for the next few weeks. Just gotta edit all of them." Colby replied.

I just kept staring at the counter in front of me.

Colby could tell I was uncomfortable, he placed his arm around me and pulled me into his chest.

"You meet a lucky lady over there or something?" Jake asked and Colby just chuckled.

"No. She's an old friend. I haven seen her in years. So we brought her back to meet everyone." Colby said, and I swear I heard Jake's breath catch in his throat.

"An old Kansas friend? In Florida?" Jake asked.

"Yeah, she needed a place to go. I offered a place to stay. She'll be staying in my room. Everyone's okay with it, we already talked." Colby explained.

"I'm fine with it. I dont care." Jake said, surging his shoulders.

"I'm going out for a smoke. Can you come with me Colby?" I asked and he nodded.

We walked out the front door and ai sat down on the porch. I placed a cigarette between my lips and lit it, inhaling the toxic smoke.

"He doesn't remember me, does he?" I asked as I blew smoke out my nose.

"He does. You didn't give him a chance to see your face." Colby explained as he sat down next to me.

"I'm scared." I said quietly.

"I know Kali. I do. But it'll be better to know where you two stand right off the bat. If you just avoid him he's gonna get suspicious and then he'll find out when you aren't prepared and we'll be right back to square one." Colby explained. I nodded.

"I just hope he doesnt tell me to leave." I said

"You're not going anywhere." Colby said pulling me into his side, kissing my head.

"Sam and ai missed you to much to just let you walk away again. We'll figure all of this out." Colby said.

We sat in silence as I finished smoking, I out my cigarette out on the bottom of my shoe and put the butt in my pocket, so I can throw it out inside.

"Let's go get this over with." I said jumping to my feet.

Colby stood up behind me as we walked inside. Jake still standing in the kitchen talking with Corey.

"So Kali, wanna be in my next video? I was hoping Sam would do it with me, but since you're back I'd like to have you on my channel." Colby said as we were walking back to the kitchen.

Way to ease into it there bud. Appreciate it.

"Wait, did you say Kali?" Jake spun around and looked at me like he saw a ghost.

"Hi Jake. It's been awhile." I said, and I finally made eye contact with him.

"Fuck." Jake muttered and practically ran out of the room. A few moments later his bedroom door slammed shut.

"Well that went about as food as I thought it would." I muttered turning away from Colby.

"Where are you going? Let me talk to him before-" Colby started saying.

"No. Let me talk to him. You're to close to all of this Colbs. I heard Devyn say from behind me.

"Are you sure babe?" Corey asked and Devyn nodded.

"Yes Corey. I have to try. I don't k ow what happened all those years ago, but after all these years, hes gotta tell someone what's going on. And if he hasn't told Sam or you about it Colby, maybe he can tell someone who wasn't there." Devyn explained before she went running after Jake.
