LEONIS ARROWOOD and her mother, Epsilon Arrowood walked through the near-empty platform as they awaited the return of the Hogwarts express. Leonis sat on one of the benches reading her book on the history of quidditch and Epsilon sat next to her, reading a book of her own on different spells she could try.
The two were so immersed in what they were reading that they only bothered to look up with they heard everyone making a fuss. They looked at each other and then at the gathering crowd at the bottom end of the station. They were slightly curious as to what was going on but soon found out it's because the Potter's had arrived.
Epsilon went noticeably rigid when she heard James' voice from behind her "don't get me wrong, I love the attention but it would be nice if just once I could take my son to school and not have everyone make a huge deal out of it"
Epsilon snapped out of her trancelike state when she heard the rumble of the train coming towards the platform. "Come on Leo, you should get a compartment before all the other students block the pathways" Epsilon stated. Leonis closed her book and stood up, grabbing the chest which was laying just beneath her feet.
"Sounds like a plan" Leonis replied. She wheeled the chest towards one of the opening of the train when someone ran into her. She dropped her book on quidditch and let out a hiss as it fell on her foot.
"I'm so sorry" James rushed out, he then tried to grab the fallen book but ended up head-butting Leonis instead.
"Leo? What are you doing?" Epsilon asked when she noticed her daughter had fallen behind. "This guy bumped into me, mum. Nothing major" Leonis replied, standing up from her crouching position.
Epsilon now stood behind Leonis trying to get a look at who had bumped into her. She was going to tell them to watch where they were going next time but her words got caught in her throat when she saw it was James Potter.
James brushed his hair from his eyes and was about to begin apologising profusely when suddenly he felt as though he couldn't move. He hadn't seen the woman in front of him for fourteen years, and when he had met her, it was during a low point in his life. He and Lily had gone on a break and he was lonely, as was Epsilon and the two ended up hooking up, he never expected to see her again.
Lily and Harry then came over to the trio just as Leonis asked "do you two know each other?"
Leonis had always been blunt, a trait that she loved dearly.
Epsilon quickly cleared her throat and replied "yeah, we went to school together, a blast from the past is all" she lied.
"Is that who I think it is?" Came a loud voice from behind Lily and Harry. A man with black hair and silver eyes now stood almost directly in front of Leonis "Epsilon Arrowood! I haven't seen you in years!"- Sirius looked down at the girl in front of him-"and you have a kid!" Sirius' eyebrows pulled down into a frown "why wasn't I informed?"
Epsilon laughed to herself "Sorry Sirius, I didn't know how to get in touch"
Leonis and Harry shared a look and Leonis motioned to the Hogwarts express with her eyes and Harry nodded "ok, mum I think I've had enough of old people for this morning. Harry and I are going to get a compartment before they're all taken. Love you! Bye!"
"Leo, wait for me!"
"I don't like waiting, Potter! Keep up!"
Sirius watched as the two ran towards the train. He took note of everything about Leonis that he could gather in the small time they were together. Hazel-green eyes, light brown hair, freckles littering her nose, history of quidditch book clutched in her hands and rather impatient.
Sirius knew Epsilon had been pregnant but he didn't know she kept the baby. He only knew that she had a one-night-stand with an unnamed man (she wouldn't dare say who it was) and that she had gotten pregnant as a result.
Sirius also knew that James had, had a one-night-stand around the same time as Epsilon when he and Lily were on a break.
Despite looking like her mother, Leonis looked a lot like someone else he knew but he couldn't put his finger on it. Until—"Oh, my merlin! Is she J"—
Epsilon put a hand over Sirius' mouth and looked him dead in the eye "another word and I cut your balls off" she said in a low voice.
James and Lily gave each other a look. They'd have to question Sirius later. Meanwhile, Sirius looked scared for his life as he slowly moved his hands between his legs, attempting to protect his crown-jewels.
Epsilon slowly moved her hand away from Sirius' mouth, then looked at the watch on her wrist. Whilst backing away she said "nice seeing you again but I've gotta go!"
"I'll be round at six, Lo!" Sirius yelled back as Epsilon got further away. She then gave him a thumbs up as she ran through the wall.
