Ok, for the past couple parts, I wanted to do a long post, but for some reason, it just wasn't working out. I had to keep switching POVs for the sake of the story. I've done this chapter in Rick's POV and it seemed to work being a long post. I hope everyone enjoys this one. ;) I haven't started a new part yet, but I'll try to start soon. <3
Rick's POV
I was kind of dreading tonight. I just wanted to get this done and over with. I hadn't expected Mercy to be a virgin, and I just wanted to get that fixed as soon as possible before we could start shooting. I couldn't tell her, though. Of course not. She would go crazy. But I could tell Vincent couldn't I? Well, he was probably my best bet in getting her laid anyways. I couldn't shoot a video of a girl losing her virginity. It just seemed morally wrong. Which was weird, because I ran a business of catching people having intimate moments on video. So what if I couldn't explain my morals? It was just how I felt.
This was more than I had bargained for. Not only did I have to convince her, but now I have to deal with her being a virgin. And on top of that, I've got to get her cherry popped fast. She needed money, and the guys who worked above me wanted me to keep making them money. I'd go after her myself just to get the job done, but I knew she would never accept me. Most people are afraid of me. Not that I seem scary, but for some reason, I guess I just put off an aura they don't like? I've never really been a people person.
So, if Mercy was willing to shoot videos with Vincent, then wouldn't she be willing to do it off camera, too? I wasn't sure, but I didn't think so. Maybe I could tell her I thought they should practice together to get her ready for the real thing. And I could let Vincent know ahead of time.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but I would do something, because I was walking up to the table now, and I saw them both look over at me.
My eyebrows crinkled in confusion when I saw the look of anger? on Vincents face. What did he have to be angry at me for? I hadn't requested anything of him. And even then, it was odd. I had never really seen Vincent show much emotion. It almost made me stumble as I walked, but I kept my footing and sat opposite of the two of them.
Immediately after I took a seat, I sensed something wierd about them. I felt like I had sat at the wrong table. Like we hadn't planned dinner tonight, and I had seen them having dinner together and just decided to stop and say 'Hi'.
I let that feeling slide and greeted them. "How were your days today?"
"Alright," said Mercy.
"Fine," Vincent added.
"Yeah? Good to hear," I nodded. "Well, lets get some food, and get this over with. Did you guys already find what you wanted?"
They both answered a "Yes." at almost the same time.
"Well, give me a second, and we can order."
I opened the menu, looking for steak. I saw 'Fillet Mignon Tips', and knew immediately what I was ordering. I set down the menu, and noticed that Mercy seemed a little bit distracted. She was twirling the straw in her glass, and seemed to have her eyesvery set on it. Like it was some task she had to get done. Well, this is odd. I looked at Vincent, and he seemed to be off in La La Land, enjoyingsomething there. Damn, what was wrong with these two? I cleared my throat, and stared. They both looked up. "I'm Ready," I said with a smile that I'm sure didn't reach my eyes. Most of my smiles didn't reach my eyes, though. I couldn't remember the last time one had. I looked down at the table until I heard the waitress arrive.
"Can I take your orders, now?"
"I'd like the fillet mignon with fries and a coke," I told her.
She looked towards the others, and I was taken aback when instead of Vincent ordering, he looked over at Mercy with his head bowed and asked her what she wanted.
She seemed frozen in place as she told him quietly what she wanted. He smiled at her when she was done, her still seeming frozen, and turned to the waitress to tell her what they both wanted. I felt one of my eyebrows raise as I looked at them. There was definitely something weird between them.
"So, lets discuss business. Where to start? How about your current job. Have you thought about what you should do?" I directed the questions toward Mercy.
She swallowed the sip of Dr. Pepper she had taken, and nodded. "Vincent suggested I tell the other workers, and my boss, that I was moving to Missouri to live with my aunt and get involved in new experiences."
I thought about it for a minute, then decided that anything to get her out of her old job was good. I needed her completely dedicated to this. Which brought up the next issue.
"That sounds like a great idea. Now, how about your living arrangements. You'll have to move after telling your coworkers that, and you need to be close to the station, it would be easier, more convenient, and a good option."
"I'm not sure how I could do that. I don't have any money right now, so unless we start shooting before I move, there's not going to be a move. I'm not even sure I can stay in the apartment I'm in now. My landlord talked to me today. He told me I needed to pay him before the end of the month. That's two days from now." Mercy told me.
I thought about what I could do. I could pay her land lord for her, but she still wasn't going to be able to stay there after that. She still needed to move. I could pay for an apartment for her that's closer to the station, but how long would I have to keep that up before we could start shooting? How long would I have to wait until she lost her virginity to start a movie? I guess I could take things one step at a time. I'll start with what's forefront.
"I'll pay your landlord for this past month, and get him off your back. But you still need to move. You have to get out of that town for more than one reason. The biggest one being your coworkers. They will be expecting you to move to go to your aunts." I told her.
I switched my attention to Vincent when he spoke up on the subject for the first time. "She can stay in my house. Lord knows I've got plenty of room, and it's big enough that she won't even notice I'm there." he told me.
I looked to Mercy, to see her reaction to that. She seemed thoughtful.
"If you don't want to, I can always pay for an apartment in the city that you can stay in. It's ultimately your choice." I told her. I didn't want her to be uncomfortable if she stayed at Vincents, but at the moment, I was brought to the fact that if they were living together, they would definitely have a better chance of 'practicing' their work.
"It wouldn't have to be permanent, just until you can get your own place." Vincent reminded her.
She seemed to be thinking about it. She kept twisting a piece of her hair in one of her fingers, looking back and forth between us.
"Were not making you do anything, there's no pressure," I assured her.
She nodded at that, and replied, "I can stay with Vincent for a little while."
I let out a breath I hadn't known I had been holding, and Vincent seemed to do the same. We both smiled, and I looked at her, and said, "We'll get to shooting in no time, and you'll be back on your feet, able to forget all about this."
At that, she didn't seem reassured, and for some reason, I felt more anger radiate off Vincent. Had I said something wrong?
Just then, the food arrived, and I sat back, letting the waitress place the food in front of me. I didn't take my eyes off of Vincent and Mercy though. I couldn't understand the things that they did. Things were still a little off, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to address them just yet. I could wait. And I would. But not too long.
