Jimin POV
I take a deep breath before gently pushing the door open. I walk slowly into the loud classroom, my head lowered. I keep my bag clutched to my chest, ignoring that my glasses are sliding down my nose. "Hello." I greet formally as I bow. The class immediatly quiets as the teacher speaks to me.
"Are you Park Jimin?" She asks, smiling. She looks quite young.
I nod quickly and give her my crumpled schedule paper. "You're my home and rec teacher." I tell her softly.
She looks at me curiously before handing me back my paper. "Okay Jimin, my name is Kim Taeyeon. We are glad to have you."
She shakes my hand firmly. Her eyes search mine like she is expecting me to say something else. I bow quickly to the class. "Um, hello. I moved last week from Busan. My name is Park Jimin. Please take care of me." I give a shy smile before focusing on the floor again.
"Hello, Jimin." The class says in sync, like properly trained robots.
"So, what's your power, Park Jimin?" Some girl yells. I peek at Ms. Kim, but she nods at me to go on.
I shake my head and keep my eyes down. "Um, i- it doesn't matter much." I really don't want to be here.
She laughs cheerfully. "It's okay hun, no one wants to be here. Since you don't wanna share, sit down then, there are seats in the back."
I startle and finally look up, removing my clunky glasses. I am certain I did not say that aloud.
"You didn't. Guess my ability." Ms. Kim slightly pushes me. "Go on."
The class snickers at my bewildered expression. "Welcome to Hanseong High, Jimin." A few whisper as I pass. Some regard me coldly. I angle my smile toward the nicer ones, but keep my gaze trained on the ground.
I make my way to an empty seat in the last row. It was pretty much the only seat available, not like I'd sit in the front anyways.
"Jimin, right? Sorry, but that's my hyung's seat." A boy next to me whispers.
I sigh but don't bother to argue, looking around for an empty seat. I only saw a singular seat in the very back, isolated from the others.
Well I sure ain't sitting there.
So I whisper back. "Well whoever that is, ain't here," and promptly turn around, ignoring anything else he has to say.
"Taehyung-ah, don't bother." The boy in front of me says. "Yoongi hyung will deal with it when he decides to come."
"Well, alright then."
I can feel the dirty look he shot me without needing to see, hearing how he dramatically scooted his desk from mine.
I softly set down my books, blinking rapidly. I really hope they don't hold any grudges. I do not need enemies on my first day.
"Sorry." I say, after a minute of overthinking. Taehyung, the boy in front of Taehyung, and the boy in front of me all turn back confused. "I mean, I just-"
"Jimin." Ms. Kim calls out. "Don't get in trouble on your first day for something as foolish as talking out of turn."
I blush and put my head on the desk. "Sorry Ms. Kim." I mutter it, but if she can read thoughts like I presume, it doesn't matter.
"Taeyeon sunbae is fine, Jimin-ah." She says. "Just don't talk again- if you can help it."
I can feel my face go a deeper red and I put my hands over my head, running them through my hair. Humiliation already? Perfect.
