I wake up to my alarm going off, and quickly shut it off, realizing that it's only Sunday. Tomorrow, I'll have school. And Finn will be coming with me. My school made it possible for him to attend while he was in town, which is amazing for everyone.
I sit up and throw the covers off of myself. Walking over to the mirror, I make sure I look presentable. I realize that I look like I just walked off a battlefield, and decide to brush my hair and teeth before going downstairs. Finn slept on the couch, so thankfully, he won't ever see me like this.
When I'm ready, I go downstairs to find Finn and my mom at the kitchen table having coffee. I smile when I see his bed head, and sit down next to him.
"Morning, sleepyhead." My mom says, and Finn wraps his arm around my shoulders. I feel him kiss my head, and begin laughing as my mom fake gags. "You two are gross." She gets up to get more coffee, and throws me a wink to let me know she's only joking around.
I giggle and lean my head onto Finn's chest.
"How did you sleep?" I ask him. "Was the couch okay?" I don't want him to be uncomfortable.
"It was fine. It would have been better if I could have slept with you, though." My eyes widen and I detach myself from his grip to gasp at his words.
"Finn!" I'm completely speechless, and my mom is inclining her head in our direction to make sure she heard Finn right.
"I didn't mean in that way! Agh-" I laugh as he stumbles over his words. "I just meant that I would have slept better with you in my arms. Not-" I cut him off before he can embarrass himself any more.
"Finn, we know. It's fine." My mom and I start dying of laughter, and Finn turns extremely red.
"Oh gosh, I feel so bad now..." Finn rubs the hair out of his face and stands up. "I think I'll go get dressed." He smiles shyly and walks off into the bathroom after grabbing some of his clothes.
"He's a keeper." My mom says over my laughter.
"Mom, stop. I know that he's a little awkward, but I like him. A lot." My mom suddenly walks over to me seriously.
"Sweetie, I know that you two like each other, but you haven't..." My face immediately becomes red.
"No! Mom, no! We haven't done... that." I can't believe I'm having this conversation right now. Oh God.
"Okay, thank goodness. I was worried for a second." She gets up again and starts to wash the dishes.
"But if we did..." I smirk at myself, knowing that she'll definitely take the bait.
"What! No! You can't!" I laugh.
"It was a joke, Mom! We obviously aren't going to do that!" I laugh and bite my lip while she can't see. Though it won't happen any time soon, it's very strange to think about. Me and Finn, connected forever.
"Okay, Mom. I'm gonna go get dressed." I get up and walk upstairs. Thankfully, she doesn't stop me. When I make it to my room, I pull out black denim shorts that have lace coming off the edge, and a cute yellow belly shirt. It's been really hot lately, and all this heat has been killing me.
When I walk back downstairs, Finn is sitting on the couch looking at his phone. My mom is nowhere to be seen.
"Where did my mom go?" I ask Finn.
"She left for work. She said to tell you that she loves you." I smile, and sit down next to Finn. He looks up at me, and immediately smiles to himself.
"What?" I ask, a blush creeping into my cheeks.
"Nothing. You're just so beautiful." I look down, embarrassed, but mostly just amazed that Finn is my boyfriend.
"So, Finn, my mom asked me if we were...you know..." I look up at him, and he becomes so red in the face that he almost resembles a tomato exactly. His freckles are just little pinpricks of brown on his face.
"Oh...um...that's awkward. What did you say?"
"Obviously I said that we weren't!" I start to fiddle with my fingers, knowing that this conversation can only get more awkward.
"Okay, good. Or else I would probably be living on the streets by now." We both laugh, and I lean in to kiss him on the cheek. At the last minute, though, he turns and kisses me on the mouth. He kisses me again, and I crawl over to him so we're closer together. He pulls me even closer, and I find myself straddling his lap. He keeps kissing me though, and we both end up gasping for air as we enjoy each other's embrace.
"Okay, how about a bike ride?" I ask. Thankfully, he agrees, and we both get up to get ready.
A/N
