That evening Ronan didn’t think he would stumble down, on verge of tears. He looked at Mearo as he vanished from the shadows up ahead. The endless shouting of the man broke the silence as he struggle to take off the flames. The man suffered endless pain as he shouted his lungs out. The orange flame was so intense he lost his life in a matter of seconds. Ronan found himself lying side by side with Airra’s unconscious body, tears falling from his cheeks. The people who heard the encounter came close to help Ronan. They flushed the fire extinguisher on the burning body of the man but they were too late. The man lost his life already. Ronan gathered all his strength to carry Airra but he can’t do it. He was too weak; he was weakened about everything he saw tonight.

“Are you alright?” One man said. “You need to bring her to the hospital.” The other said. Ronan was on verge of losing his grip on Airra’s body but he never lost hope. He gathered his strength again and he was now able to lift her body. “Where is the closest hospital?” Ronan asked the people with him. They pointed out to the other side of the street. So the hospital was located only two blocks away from their school. He placed on his steps out of the alley; rain washed out the dirt of his arms and slid Airra’s hair out of her face. She was paler than before. Ronan looked at her shoulder. She suffered a major burn.

Ronan reached the hospital and let the nurses inside know what was going on. They placed Airra on a stretcher and pushed her through one of the rooms on the ground floor. Ronan continued his way beside Airra on the stretcher but the hospital crew stopped him because the area ahead was off limits to civilians. Ronan stayed and sat through one the chairs provided by the side of the hallway. He laid his head back to the wall, eyes closed and thinking very deep. Memories flashed back to him about what happened earlier. The flames, it was so intense it brought pain and death. Ronan suddenly burst to tears, in pain and shaking. He looked at his hand, his cursed hands. Damn this hands, there’s no way these can be normal hands. They could hurt. Why do I have this ability?! The thought is trying to explode inside Ronan’s head like a volcano. He never felt a great anger than what he was currently feeling right now. He tried to lean in front, his face now faced down into the white tiles of the hallway of the hospital. The fluorescent light was so bright it reflected into his face by the tiles. He noticed that his tears are yet to stop. He had mixed emotions again; anger, guilt and worry. He placed his hands in his face, he was so angry now that he want to unleash his flames to burn his head but he can’t do it. He closed his fist, still shaking about the events that happened.

Damn that Mearo. He was serious about killing Airra earlier. He really is a heartless bastard. Ronan thought. In that very moment another stretcher was pushed through. It was covered from head to toe. This must be the body of Roy Seiren. Ronan said on his mind. His gaze followed the stretcher until it reached the glass doors by which civilians cannot enter. He waited in the hallway; he had no ideas to do anymore. The night was passing by until he noticed that it was already 10:00 PM. He stood; he knew that he must go home now. There was no assurance that he could see Airra sooner or later so he finally decided to leave the hospital.

Ronan walked outside the hospital. The road was flooded but the rain had come to a stop. Ronan’s soaked uniform was yet to get dry, he doubted that it would be dry on his way home which was just nine blocks away from this hospital is. Ronan placed his foot to the flooded road, the cold and dirty water soaked his feet. This kind of water was so dirty it could be dangerous when your foot had wounds on it.

In deep thought Ronan lost his focus on the road. He was hit by a taxi and he crashed on the road. The pain didn’t even strike Ronan as his mind was so occupied. He stood once again, not minding the nervous driver who was about to cry when he saw that he hit a boy. Ronan continued, he passed his school and now on his way home.
