Slowly, the storm over the crew passed. Lockwood, seeking a moment of silence before George came to chastise him about Lucy, made his way to where the mermaid was kept. Pushing the door open, he looked around to see the room a wreck. Though he didn't expect the room to not be a wreck. The thing that alarmed him was the darkness, not allowing to see her.

"Lucy?" He called out to her. From under some toppled over cargo, he could hear a small cry. He dashed over to the wreck and began digging for her. It was pretty quickly that he could grab a hold of her. Being so dark, he still couldn't see her, but he could feel her. She had such soft skin, unbelievably soft since she was a mermaid. Her skin was warmer than he expected.

"Okay?" He asked, blindly pulling her body closer to his. He could hear her fumbling around the cargo.

"Okay." She replied. He pulled her out of the debris and searched around for a candle and a match. He found one of each lit the candle. He sighed, feeling a little relieved now that everything was calm again.

That calm lasted all of 5 seconds.

Taking a look at Lucy, something was wrong. Very wrong.

She had legs.

No tail, no scales, she looked almost completely human. She still retained her gills on her ribs, large, memorizing eyes, and enchanting demeanor. She looked at her legs, shocked and worried, then up at Lockwood. It seemed she was more worried than confused. Lockwood looked in shock and her body.

Her completely bare body. Her was too short to cover her breasts and her legs were not crossed to cover her feminine parts.

Lockwood tried to tear his gaze from her body. It was rude to stare at a naked woman, even if she was a mermaid just a few hours ago. And Lockwood prided himself at being a gentleman, despite being a pirate.

Finally tearing his eyes from her body, he took his coat off and draped it over her shoulders. She looked at the cloth he had just wrapped around her body. He then picked her up, bridal style, and carried her to his cabin. Luckily, his crew was too tired to be on deck. Most were sleeping.

Reaching his personal quarters, he situated her in his room. She laid on the bed and allowed the coat to fall off of her. Lockwood fixed the coat to cover her body and this time she seemed annoyed with his actions.

"Stay here." He ordered. "I'm going to get George." And with that, he left, closing and locking the door to keep her from escaping.

After recovering George, Lockwood made his main task finding suitable cloths for Lucy, even though she would be wearing his cloths.

"Fascinating! I've heard various legends about how mermaids can have their tails changed into legs when their completely dry, and I've also hears legends about how mermaids die when left out of water for too long." He rambled. "Is that the only thing that's changed?" He made a move to uncover her body from the clothing that was currently covering her. Lockwood quickly made a move to stop him.

"George, stop that! It's rude!" Lockwood commented.

"She doesn't mind!" He defended before turning to ask her, asking "Do you?"

She tilted her head questioningly. Lockwood shoved his first mate out of the way and took his coat from her shoulders. He began to dress her in one of his plain white undershirts. She looked up at him annoyed before trying to take the clothing off.

"No, Lucy!" He ordered. "Keep it on!"

He began to fight with her to keep the cloth on while she fought to get it off. She growled at him a few times, letting him know she was annoyed.

"Lockwood, I think it's pretty obvious that she doesn't want it on." George mumbled, hoping his best friend would get the message before she hurt him on accident.

"Well she needs to." He growled as Lucy began to fight him off a bit harder. She was strong for someone who turned out to be so short.

"I think mermaids don't understand the concept of sexualising the human body and therefore don't understand the concept of clothing. It's probably a better idea to slowly introduce that to her..." George was bringing rationality into the fight which made things a lot harder for the captain to argue with. It quickly became obvious that he would lose this battle.

He sighed, giving up on debating with either of them. Lucy glared at him and tossed his shirt off, revealing her completely bare body. Being the gentleman he was, he looked away. Why was she being so stubborn? She was pleasant not to long ago...

George snickered, which he quickly made to pretend he was coughing.

"Well, what do we do with her now? Still keeping the old plan of selling her?" George asked, knowing very well what the answer would be.

"No. She has the ability to change into a human and clearly has a mind of her own." He reasoned. "Although..."

"Oh no. I know what that means. And no. Whatever crazy idea you're coming up with, no. Absolutely not." George knew Lockwood better than anyone else. He knew when his best friend was coming up with another stupid idea that could get them in trouble, arrested, killed, or all three. George was obviously the rationality to Lockwood's eccentric plans.

Lockwood looked to his first mate and smirked before looking to Lucy, who had was inspecting her legs.

"She'll need to to walk." Lockwood smiled, forgetting his previous irritation with her.

"No, Lockwood." George sternly demanded. Lucy looked up at the with confused eyes.

"We should make her part of out crew."

"Lockwood, I said NO!"
