The night after, Luke, Jess and I make our way up to the Gilmore household. Knowing Jess, he's probably going to steal a beer, or ditch during dinner.

Luke knocks on the door, and a few seconds later, Lorelai opens the door. "Hey, perfect timing. Sookie's about to break her own record for the most food served outside the Roman Empire." Lorelai semi-jokes, making me chuckle and shake my head in amusement.

"Sounds great."

"Sure does."

"Yay, I love food." Everyone gives me confused looks, but I just smile sheepishly, amusing Lorelai.

"So, come on in." she gestures us to come inside, widening the front door. Jess takes the lead, and I soon follow.

Luke and Lorelai have a conversation in the foyer, while Jess and I look around the living room, curious. "'Yay, I love food.' Really?" Jess mocks, both annoyed and amused. "What? It's true."

"Hey, Jade, Jess. You wanna come on in the kitchen." Lorelai suggests, making Jess awkwardly nod, while I nod eagerly, making her chuckle.

"Sookie, Jackson, I want you to meet Luke's niece and nephew. This is Jade, and that's Jess." Lorelai introduces us to the happy couple. "Do you eat cheese?" Sookie asks, over-enthusiastically.

"What?"

"Yeah?"

"Oh, my God. This is the greatest lemon I've ever grown! I mean, this is a great lemon. Sookie you gotta try this lemon. Isn't this a great lemon?" Jackson exaggerates, as Lorelai gives Jess and I an apologetic look, which I dismiss with a wave of my hand.

"That is a great lemon!" Sookie agrees, tasting it. Jackson grabs 2 more slices of lemon, and gestures to us. "Try it! It's a meyer!"

"Sure, can't knock it 'till I try it." I agree, taking the lemon and biting into it. "Jackson grows fruit and then scares people with it." Lorelai comments, as I hum in satisfaction. "You're right, this is a good lemon." I comment, making Lorelai chuckle.

"Rory, Chris, they're here." Lorelai tells her kids, looking into a room beside the kitchen, as I swallow the lemon. "Coming." two voices - a guy's and a girl's - tell their mother, as Jess and I stand in the doorway.

"Hey." Rory tells us, looking at Jess. "Hey." he replies back, as I lock eyes with Chris. This may sound extremely cliché, but it feels like all time has stopped. His piercing blue eyes seem so mesmerising, and it looks like he's caught in a trance as well.

"Hi." I shyly greet him, which is unusual for me. "Hi." he greets back, as Jess and Rory share knowing looks, which we ignore, as I put back on my usual confidence.

"I'm Rory. That's Chris." Rory introduces them, as I smile at Chris. "Yeah, I figured." Jess rudely tells her, making me roll my eyes. "Nice to meet you."

Jess and I start looking at their joint bookshelf, admiring their collection. "Wow. Aren't we hooked on phonics?" Jess comments, making me smirk, amused.

"Oh, we read a lot. Do you read?" Chris asks, directed at me, which Jess notices. "Not much." I lie smoothly, trying to be mysterious. "I could loan you that, if you want. It's great." Rory tells Jess, as he looks through a book he's read a couple of times, making me hide a smirk. "No, thanks." "Well, if you change your mind."

I sit down on the bed beside Chris, while Jess makes his way beside Rory, just as Lorelai walks in. "Okay, we need to get Jackson away from the lemons now, so we're moving the feast to the living room." Lorelai explains, holding a bowl of food. "Be right there."

"So, do these open?" Jess asks, referring to the windows, as I quickly catch on. "Jess." I warn, which he ignores. "Oh, yeah. You just have to unlatch them and then push." Rory explains, making me roll my eyes at her naivety. "Great. Shall we?"

"Shall we what?" Rory asks innocently, as Chris and I share a knowing look. "He wants to bail, Ror." Chris explains, as Rory finally catches on. "No."

"Why?"

"Because, it's Tuesday night in Stars Hollow. There's nowhere to bail to. The 24-hour mini-mart just closed 20 minutes ago." Chris explains, making me smile, amused. God, he's cute and funny.

"So, we'll walk around or sit on a bench and stare at our shoes, while Chris and Jade can do their own thing." Jess suggests, making Chris and I look at each other, before turning away, blushing.

"Sookie just made a ton of really great food, and I'm starving, and though it may not seem like it right at this moment, it's gonna be fun. Trust me." Rory explains, trying to convince us, but more Jess as I actually want to stay.

"Well, you got me at food." I tell her, making Chris chuckle. "I don't even know you." Jess tells the female Gilmore twin, ignoring Chris and I. "Well, don't I look trustworthy?" Rory asks, slightly teasingly. "Maybe." "Good, let's eat."

And with that, Rory, Chris, Jess and I make our way out of Rory and Chris' shared room, not without Jess and I taking a book each, preparing to make our moves later.

"You want a soda?" Chris asks, curious. "I'm good, Chris. Thanks." "I'll get it." Jess and I tell him, as I smile brightly at the male Gilmore, which he returns. "Okay."

Rory grabs a soda, as Chris, Rory and I leave for the living room. Before leaving, Jess gives me a wink, to which I playfully roll my eyes, knowing what he's about to do.

"Did you know pam was originally made out of rice?" Sookie asks everyone, as the three of us walk in, while Jess is "getting a soda".

"Hey guys, where's Jess?" Luke asks, curious. "He's getting a soda." Rory innocently tells him, knowing nothing about Jess. Luke looks at me expectantly, but I shake my head and mouth 'nah'.

Lorelai hands Luke a plate with a lot of food on it. Well, a lot for anyone else, but not me. "I'm sorry. You must've mistaken me for you." Luke retorts sarcastically, as I take the plate from his hands. "You mean me, actually." I correct my uncle, as I hear Chris laugh, making me smile.

"Ooh, I forgot the garlic bread." Sookie remembers. "I'll get it." Lorelai offers, handing Luke another plate with even more food on it, making me giggle childishly, as she walks away.

Everyone starts getting their food onto plates, as I sit down and start digging in, absolutely starving. For a girl my size, I eat like pig for some reason.

During dinner, Chris and I got to know each other a little more. The more I learn about him, the more amazing he gets. And I think he likes me too, with the whole 'cheery and adorable-yet mysterious and intriguing' thing I've got going on.

Apparently though, Luke and Lorelai had a fight during dinner over Jess, but I stayed for dinner anyway, which they were happy about. Honestly, I think I was more happy though. I got to talk to Chris some more, and I got more amazing food.
