A few hours have passed since dinner, which Xavoss took half-asleep, much to everyone's amusement. Everyone is fast asleep now. Well, almost: Renegados made his way from his room to the lounge, and was about to go through the entry cavern to breath some fresh air outside when he had a terrible gut feeling. He decided not to. Instead, he went through the double doors opposite the entry cavern and navigated the base.
After walking in a few long, interconnected hallways, he finally reached his destination: the library.
It is a big room, three times as large as the lounge, filled with shelves upon shelves of books ranging from history books, encyclopedias, and science books to comic books and magazines. The walls are a dark red, opposed to the pastel yellow colored walls in the hallway. The floor is made of wood, same as a large portion of the underground base, but this one is more polished than in the other areas. In the ceiling are hanging lights that illuminate the room. Round tables similar to those in the lounge are also found here, each one with four chairs each.
Renegados ignored the ridiculous orderliness of the room and went straight to the shelves and took a book.
'The Different Species of Monsterkind', the title read. Renegados didn't care: he took the book, then sat down by the nearest table. He parted his messy bangs, showing his inhuman eyes, then started reading.
A series of increasingly loud and suspicious footsteps didn't faze the reading man, even if it stopped right beside him.
"Renegados?" A familiar voice said. "It's late, why are you here?"
"I can't sleep." Renegados said, not even bothering to look away from the book he is reading.
"You can't sleep too? Guess we both have the same problem." The other man said, chuckling, while he sat down on the chair beside Renegados.
"You should have gone to the pantry to drink milk, Damero." Renegados said.
"I dunno. I suddenly wanted to wander, then I ended up here. Life is strange and sh--." Damero said, abruptly ending his sentence. Veralte would probably wake from her slumber and walk through walls just to scold him if he finished the profane statement, and he doesn't want a lecture on this ungodly hour. Instead, he folded his arms on the table, then rested his head against the black cloth, facing the wall, away from Renegados.
Then there was silence, but not the awkward one. Renegados continued reading the book, while Damero stared into the wall.
"Hey, Renegados," Damero suddenly said after some time, still staring into the wall, his head on his arms, "what color are the walls here again?"

Xavoss woke up to someone shaking him violently.
"Ugh, Vennaeeeeel, what time is it?" Xavoss asked groggily.
"Three in the morning." Vennael said mischievously. Xavoss groaned, totally ignoring the mischief in his reflection's voice.
"Wake me three hours laterrrr." Xavoss said, turning away from his twin, trying to drift back to sleep, but was only shook much more violenty than before.
"Hey, I'm just kidding! It's nine o'clock already, wake up!" Vennael said, laughing.
"If you said that it's either three or nine, then the real time is neither three or nine in the morning. You can't fooool meeee…" Xavoss said, still sleepy.
"No, seriously though, it is nine already. Wake up, we're having breakfast." Vennael said as he pulled Xavoss and propped him against the headboard into a sitting position. He knew very well that this will instantly wake the immortal.
