Chapter 4 - Alice Lightwood

Dad steps back, "Change," I look at him confused, "Its nothing different then before, change how you normally would but you have to think of your wolf." he says and he changes. His wolf is all a autumn red with some traces of black in it. His back when he sat up came to my shoulders. His gold eyes stared at me waiting for me.

Yay!!! Im going to be able to stretch! Anna says.

I did as he said and turned. Not saying I didn't hurt like the out time but this really hurt, everywhere. I open me eyes and I see huge red and white paws.

"Alice," a deep growls says. I look up and see dad towering over me. "We werewolf's specialize in fighting, we train on both hand to hand and weapon combat but we have to wait till we get to the others."

"How can you fight like this?" I look at my self, "it seems complicated ?" when I look at dad he was growling, slowly lowering his body. I back up from him, scared of what he is going to do next.

Then he pounce. As fast as I could I dodged it, tripping on something loosing my balance. He snaps around and bites my neck holding me up, "Like that," he said as he dropped me, "But that isn't even close in comparison to what we can do,"

-few hours later-

I fell tired leaning my head. I looked at dad and he didn't look tired. We've been fighting, then sprinting, and repeat for hours. Great birthday, I think, training awesome.

"Let's go home and eat dinner," he says has he brushes past me. I get up and follow behind him. We started to run, well more like sprinting. The loud crunch of our paws slamming against the dead leaves and sticks eochs threw the woods. The trees passes us in blurs. It was amazing to think of how fast we are going.

But what cause us to make a sudden stop was the faint whispers and clicks of a camera. Dad sits up and looks to his right. I do the same and see a woman crouching down pointing a camera at us. Dad growls and looks at me. "Alice you need to go home,"

"But,"

"If I come then she will know where we are going, I will stay here and make sure she doesn't follow." he looks at her, "I promise I will be back soon. Now go!!"

I stared at him for a bit and started running again. He'll come back, Anna says, he just got you back and he will do anything to stay with you.

I hope so.... I think to my self.

I get close to home and I see mom outside looking at me. I stop in front over her gasping.

"Where's your father?" she ask and looks over my shoulder. Then she turns around and grabs the huge blanket, mom unfolds it and holds it up at me. I turn back to normal without thinking and wrap it around me.

"Someone was taking pictures of us when we were coming back. Dad told me to go home and so he can make sure the person doesn't follow." I say looking at the forest.

Mom sighs and pulls me inside, "Go get dressed, dinner is almost done I bet your starving." yes yes I am, I didn't eat today. "Josh and Jessica are coming over," I look at her, "I invited them so they can have a little more time with you inside of the five minutes this morning." she walks into the kitchen, "Dress nice!"

I shuffle to my room. Dad is going to be pissed. He doesn't what anyone here. I sigh.

-long hot shower later-

I get out and look at the dress mom picked out for me. Don't touch the human Alice, Anna says.

Why not, I ask as I get dressed.

He's not ours, not our mate, she says and goes away.

I braid my hair into two braids and put my shoes on. I open my door and dad was there trying to tie a tie, until mom came over and tied it for him. They where smiling and talking amongst them selfs. It made me really happy to see my mom smile like that. And i don't know what I'd to if she isn't happy.

"Alice," mom says, I look at her, "You all right, you where just standing there."

I smile, "Ya I'm fine." mom nods and lays her head on dads chest, "What are we going to do when they ask who dad is,"

"Be honest, hun. Why should we lie about who he is," Mom says.

"Because," dad says to answer her, "They could figure out who I am and freak out." he whispers.

Silents, no one moved or spoke to give an idea on what we should do. The door bell ringing disrupted the silents. "I'll get it," mom mumbles and walks to the door. Jess came running in with her dark blue dress that comes to her knees, three inch heels and her perfectly curled hair.

"Looking good Mrs. Lightwood," Jess says with a huge grin.

Mom chuckles and closes the door, "That's Jessica, as do you," mom did look nice with her hair not tied up like always and her dress that comes to her ankles.

"Hey girl," Jess says coming over and hugging me. Wow she wore a lot of perfume. Well she did! I can't breath!

I hug back, "Hey..." I mumble.

She looks at me scared, "Your still really warm."

"I'm fine I promise,"

Jess sighs and turns around. She froze when she saw dad there. "Hi...i didnt ketch you name this morning."

Mom comes over to Jess, "Jessica, this is Calvine, he's," she pauses for a moment thinking of something, "a friend of mine." Jess nods to show she was listening but she continue to stare.

The door bell rang again but this time I answered it. I open the door and Josh has a huge smile on his face. "Hi beautiful," he kisses my cheek and walks in.

"Hello," I say and close the door.

"Since we are all here," Mom says, "The table is set and dinner is ready, let's eat."

We all sit at the table, dad at the end, mom at his right, josh on his left with me in the middle between Jess and Josh.

For the first few minutes it was just Josh and dad talking, I really didn't pay attention cause I was either talking to Jess and mom or Anna. It was nice. Having everyone I know together, but something was off. I don't know what, but it feels strange.

But everything changed with Jess dropped the silver wear and froze. She pointed to dad and scream. "Calvine Lightwood! The wanted werewolf!!"
