you were currently waiting for jihyo and jeongyeon to finish getting your orders from the employee serving ice cream.
the parlor was very busy and full, but no one was eating inside but instead outside. the customers would come in to join the long line of people waiting and once they got their ice cream, they would leave. so many people were entering that the door's bell stopped working.
it was late at night and the beach's flag had changed from the safe green color to double red, meaning the water was off limits since the sky had darkened so much the beach was barely visible. families sat on the sad, enjoying the hot night as their kids ran around the sand and collected sea shells to put in jars.
you are sitting in your chair while nayeon pulled a stool from outside up to the table, facing the windows, watching the kids play while talking about your favorite topic: drag race.
"no way, silky should have been eliminated a long time ago," you argued, not believing how nayeon said the infamous queen deserved to be in top four because of her fun personality.
nayeon shakes her head, resting her chin on her palm. "she brought something else to the cast. everyone else was just bland."
"uh uh, there's no way vanjie and nina west were bland," you tsk. "you're crazy."
nayeon blushes, looking down and tucking a strand of her long, brown hair behind her ear. "the finale was okay, too. a bit anti-climatic."
"now that is something i agree with," you look at the girl who looks at you for a good three seconds until you both burst into laughter. you don't know why, it just seemed appropriate to laugh at that time.
nayeon covers her mouth as her laughs die down. "i didn't know jihyo had a sibling."
you fake a hurt expression. "you mean to tell me, my own sister never spoke about me?"
nayeon laughs again, smiling down at you. "nope, never."
"i'm hurt. i'll have to speak to her about this," you say. you actually don't care about jihyo not talking about you. it isn't something you expect her to do. you're fine with her being worried about hanging out with her friends rather than introducing them to her sibling who is a town away.
