What is the meaning and significance of the day Arafat?
The 9th day of Dhul-hijjah (the month of Hajj) is called the day of arafat.
The day is culminating event of the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca,Arabia.
This is day on which God completed His religion and perfected His favour. It was on this very day that the prophet Mohammed Peace Be upon Him was standing on Arafat mountain, Allah (SWT) revealed to Him the Verse:
"The day I have perfected your religion for you,completed my favour upon you,and have chosen for you Islam (submission to will of God) as your religion."Qur'an (5:3)
