4 years later..
I checked my schedule to make sure I didn't have anymore clients before gathering my things. As I was leaving my office, I waved to my co-workers. My next destination was the grocery store.
Moving had benefited me in the best way. After I had gotten settled, I decided to go back to school and get my Master's in graphic design. I had landed a good job as a photographer which allowed me to move out of Alexis' house and get my own. I occasionally dabbled in videography and styling as well.
Lathan was now in kindergarten. My baby girl is the definition of beauty and brains. She gets it from her mama. She loves reading and spelling. The love for reading she must've got from her dad's side because I have never really been a fan of reading. I love some math and spelling though.
As far as our relationship with LaMelo, it was better. We were trying the best way we knew how to co-parent and work out a schedule especially with Lathan now being in school. We agreed that LaMelo would have her during the summer and every other holiday. And yes, he is still paying child support.
I skimmed the aisles trying to get an idea of what to cook. I really had a craving for seafood. I started to pick up the ingredients for a seafood boil. After I had gotten everything I needed and could think of wanting, I went ahead to the register.
As I was getting checked out, someone cover my eyes. I quickly turned around. I left out a sigh of relief when I seen it was LaMelo's former coach, Jermaine.
"You scared me."
He let out a laugh and we embraced each other in a hug. After we broke away from the hug, he started loading my bags into the cart.
"How've you been?"
"I've been pretty good, and you?"
"I'm good."
After I paid for my groceries, he followed me to my car and helped me load the groceries. After we were done, I returned the cart. He was still standing by my car when I got back.
"How's the little one doing?"
"Great. She loves school and she's starting to take a liking to basketball. She definitely needs a trainer though."
"Basketball is in her blood. She's a natural born star."
"Jermaine, little mama has basketball talent like her mama. Have you ever heard of me playing basketball?"
"Nah."
"Exactly."
We both laughed.
"When are basketball try outs?"
"February."
"We'll get together and arrange something. She'll be ready for try outs by February."
"Thank you so much, Jermaine."
I extended my hand, gesturing for him to give me his phone. He unlocked it and handed to me. I put my number inside and handed him his phone back. We hugged and he opened my car door. I climbed in and put my seatbelt on while he shut the door. I rolled the window down.
"It was nice seeing you, Nadia."
"You too."
As he walked away, I checked the time. It was almost time to get Lathan from school. I turned up my music and pulled off.

I was multitasking with helping Lathan with her homework and cooking.
"Baby, guess what?"
